METHODOLGY FOR FLOOR TILING.

1. The surface to be cleaned upto RCC floor level.

2. Certificate from electrical contractor to be ensured.
3. The floor level button marks to be checked.
4. The door frame verticality to be checked.
5. Bedding mortar to be ensured with the proportion of 1:4 and the thickness will depend upon
the slab undulations, with the endurance of 50mm FFL.
6. In case if the bed mortar thickness is more than 40mm, concrete screed of ratio 1:4:8 to be done.
7. The mortar of specified proportion to be laid in the floor and the slurry coat of ratio 1:3 has to be
applied over the mortar, then the tile has to fixed over it as per drawing.[Annexure 1*]
8. Care should be taken that , no cracked and chipped of material to be fixed.
9. Care should be taken that tiles are of same batch to avoid shade difference.
10. Tile should be laid as per the arrow marks specified in it,to avoid undulations.
11. Line and level to be checked using sprit level during laying.
12. The joints have to be cleaned of mortar and to be filled with the grouting powder of specified tile
color.
13. As soon as the tiling is completed,it has to be subjected for First inspection for line,level,plumb
and pattern as per drawing.
14. If any damaged tile found fixed during inspection,the same has to be corrected immediately.
15. The second inspection will be on 3rd day after tiling and if any hollowness found,it has to be
corrected.
16. The tile laid layer should be protected with polyethylene sheet which should be over laid by
Plaster Of Paris.
17. Tiles have to be laid with the target of zero undualations.
18. After ensuring all the above needs,checklist has to be signed off.
