 Untuk bentuk Present Terbagi menjadi 4 bentuk
yaitu :

 Simple Present tense
berfungsi untuk menyatakan fakta (termasuk fakta ilmiah), kebiasaan atau rutinitas, dan juga kejadian-
kejadian yang terjadi pada saat sekarang ini.

1. Mario works in a plumbing company.

• (-) Mario doesn”t work in a plumbing company
• (?) Does Mario work in a plumbig company ?
2. I always go to school by bus
• I do not go to school by bus
• Do You go to school by bus ?
• Note : Kata kerja yang tanpa (s/ es) adalah untuk subject : I, you, we,they.
Kata kerja yang memakai (s/es) adalah untuk subject : she, he, it
 Present continous tense
digunakan untuk menunjukkan sebuah tindakan atau kejadian yang sedang terjadi pada saat
pembicaraan sedang berlangsung atau janji /rencana dimasa datang

• Look! He is talking with his classmates.

The teachers are having a meeting at the moment.
(-) The teachers are not having a meeting at the moment
(?) are The teachers having a meeting at the moment
Note : to be yang dipakai : is, am, are
 Present perfect tense
berfungsi untuk menunjukkan tindakan yang masih berlangsung sejak dimulai atau baru saja
selesai.

• He has already finished his homework.

• ( -) He has not already finished his homework.
• (-) has he already finished his homework?
• They have written a letter
• Note : have = for subject : I, You, We, They
• has = for subject : she, he, it
 Present perfect continous tense
untuk menjabarkan suatu tindakan yang telah selesai di masa lampau atau juga bisa untuk
menjabarkan suatu tindakan yang telah dimulai di masa lalu dan masih terus berlangsung
hingga sekarang.

• He has been working here since 1996.

• They have not been sleeping for days.
• Has he been playing the computer game all day?
• I have been teaching English For 20 years.
