• Verbs come in three tenses: past, present,
and future.
• The past is used to describe things that have
already happened
• The present tense is used to describe things
that are happening right now, or things that
are continuous.
• The future tense describes things that have
yet to happen

Simple present tense
• The simple present is a verb tense with two main uses.
• We use the simple present tense when an action happens
regularly.

formed by using the base form or by adding ‑s or ‑es to
the end.

Present continuous
• The present continuous verb tense indicates that an
action or condition is happening now, frequently, and
may continue into the future.
• The Present Continuous Formula: to be [am, is, are] +
verb [present participle]

Present perfect continuous
• The present perfect continuous tense (also known as the
present perfect progressive tense) shows that something
