Schools
in the Province of ROMBLON
Rationale :
The Department of Health have implemented
different strategies in the prevention and
control of dengue such as, 4S laban sa
dengue, 4’oclock habit, ABKD and recently
the distribution of Insecticide Treated
Screen in different public elementary & high
schools in MIMAROPA.

Rationale :
The ITS is incorporated with two (2%)
percent permethrin within the fiber and is
effective against dengue mosquitoes for five
(5) years if properly used and maintained.
Installation of the ITS was made in schools
since the school children who are mostly the
victims of dengue stayed most of the time in
the school.

AEDES AEGYPTI
1. Namamahay ito sa madidilim na lugar.
2. Nangingitlog sa malilinaw at hidi dumadaloy na
tubig.
3. Mas gustong kagatin ang maiinit na balat.
4. Mas gustong kagatin ang gumagalaw na biktima.
5. Karaniwang kumakagat mula sa gilid o likod ng tao.
6. Nakalilipad sa layong 50-300 metro mula sa
pinangingitlugan.
7. Mas dumarami kung tag-ulan dahil sa nagkalat na
mga bagay na maaring pangitlugan.
8.Buong araw / 2 oras pag sikat ng araw at 2 oras bago
lumubog ang araw
9. 60-100 eggs / batch (4batch)
10. Nabubuhay sa loob ng 20-30 araw

the classroom against Dengue carrying
mosquitoes.
• The insecticide is embedded in each strand
of low concentration, enough to kill insects
but is not harmful to humans.

 Benefits of using ITS in the classroom
1. Students inside the classroom are protected from
Dengue
2. Students are also Protected from insect bites such as
cockroaches, bees, flies, etc.
3. Students can concentrate better while studying since
the annoying effects of insects are minimized.

conducive for learning
