Quiz
Language focused:
7 i. Part A: A cloze passage based on business letters/memos/emails. 1 hour 15%
(10 items)
ii. Part B: Identify and correct the errors in terms of vocabulary appropriateness for business
correspondence. (5 items)

Test
Test is based on two (2) routine letters:
10 i. Part A: Write a letter of enquiry/ reply to letter of enquiry/ Letter of procurement or reply to 2 hours 30%
letter of procurement; (15 marks)
ii. Part B: Some sentences in the letter contain errors. Rewrite the letter by restructuring the
sentences so that the grammatical forms and structures as well as appropriate use of words
would reflect the correct language and format used in a formal routine business letter.

grammatical forms and structures in business correspondence

Final Examination
Write two (2) bad message letters: 2 hours 30%
i. Letter of complaint or adjustment
ii. Letter of resignation
