What is grooming…

• Personal grooming is about presenting your self in a best possible


way….
• It tell people what you think of yourself…
• It is an art of making yourself neat, attractive and presentable….
• It is a process which will make yourself and your appearance tidy and
pleasant

• The first impression plays a very vital role in every field


of your life because it influences the opinion of every
one around you.
• It creates a picture of who you are, your ability,
professionalism, intellect and credibility are some
common judgements which are formed by your
appearance
Personal grooming involves-

• Grooming involves all the aspect of your body


• Overall cleanliness
• Hair
• Nail
• Teeth
• Uniform
• Make up
HAIR

• Hair and its style plays a important role in defining as well as


formatting the looks and attitude
• Keep your hair at a proper length and style at which you can
maintain it
• Wash your hair atleast twice a week
HAIRSTYLE:MALE

• Hair could be short so that it may not fall over the ears, eyebrows
even touch the back of the collar
• Well combed to present a neat appearance
• Facial hair should neatly and regularly be trimmed(moustaches,
sideburns)
HAIRSTYLE-FEMALE

• Hair should not fall on the face or forehead


• Tie your hair in a neat hair style
• Hair if longer than jawline can also be tied into a bun
• Hair holding device should be plain and of natural colour
NAILS

• A healthy body ensures a healthy nail


• It should always be clean and shaped
• Brittle or discoloured nails shows up deficiencies or disease
conditions
TEETH

• Brush your teeth twice a day


• Rinse your mouth after every meal
• Ensure your breath is fresh and clean
• Avoid food known to cause bad breath such as garlic, onion,
cabbage and coffee
• For those who smoke it is important to rinse your mouth after every
smoke and use a mouth freshener
CLOTHING

• The clothes you wear effect all your attitude and


confidence level
• Dress selection vary on occupation, location and
preference
• A neat clean and well ironed formal clothing is
acceptable and appreciated by one and all at the
time
• Avoid faddish style and loud colors.
• Small print are always in
MAKE-UP

• Make up should be natural looking


• It should be subtle and soft
• Use nail color which are light, neutral and closer to your skin
• Avoid bright color like red, green, blue, purple
• Use a mild perfume or deodorant
• Unnatural hair color like burgundy, green etc could be avoided
ACCESSORIES- MALE
Accessories of men includes-
• WATCH should be simple and plain. avoid leather.
Metal straps are the best
• BREIFCASE should be leather; brown and black are
the best color
• NECKTIE should be of medium width and of
conservative pattern
• BELT should match the shoe
ACESSORIES-WOMEN

• Jewelry should be minimum and conservative


• Simple studs or small earring or nose pine are
acceptable
• Try to match the color of your purse to shoes
• Have good quality accessories like watch, leather
briefcase, hand bag, mobile, mobile cover, key chain
• Avoid chunky jewelry, anklets, bangle that makes
noise
SHOES-MALE

• Lace up conservative shoes are more appropriate


• Black, brown or burgundy leather shoes are always acceptable
• Shoes should be well polished and in good condition
• Socks should cover the calves and its color should match your suit
SHOES-FEMALE

• Shoes should be simple and closed-toe shoes are preferred


• Shoes should be of good quality leather
• Brown and black are the best formal colors
• Do not wear shoe with open toes, extremely high heel, ankle straps
or sneakers
• Avoid golden, silver or sequined shoes for formal meetings
• Socks should match the color of your trouser
