Grooming refers to the personal
hygiene of a person that is the attempt
to keep themselves clean and make
their face, hair, and skin look nice.

Dressing refers to wearing clothes and


accessories designed for a professional
workplace. Professional outfits are modest,
well-tailored and free of images or
graphics. Your clothes should be clean,
ironed and free of rips, holes or stains.

HAIR
• Oil hair regularly.
• Shampoo hair three times a week.
• Brush your hair regularly.
• Get hair cut once in every month for a well groomed look.
Shave back hair(MALE).
• Keep your hair way above collar and side burns trimmed and
short. Hair should not touch eyebrows or cover any portion of
the ear(MALE).
• Hair cut should look neat and professional(FEMALE).
• Long hair should never keep be kept untied. (FEMALE)

FACE

• Shave daily. Moustache or beard, if kept it should be neat and well-trimmed.

• Trim ear hair, nose hair, toes nails every week.(MALE)
• Ensure your breath is fresh and clean.
• Brush twice a day and clean your tongue while brushing.
• Wash face at regular intervals.
• Makeup should be subtle-down to a minimum.(FEMALE)
• Lipsticks shades to be worn at work should be light in colour and not dark
shades. The shades should be natural in colour rather than bright and dark. Light
pinks, light browns and skin tones are appropriate.(FEMALE)

BODY

• Use deodorant / Anti perspirant. a little dab is just enough. Always remember… a
little dab is just enough.

Male Dressing
• Always wear an ironed shirt, even if the shirt claims to be "wash and
wear."
• The shirt should be light coloured, either plain or with horizontal or
vertical stripes in light shades. Cotton/polyester blends are acceptable.
• A long-sleeved shirt should always be buttoned at the cuffs and never
rolled up.
• Pastel colour shirt best works best.
• The legs of the trousers must not be so long or too short.
• If the trousers are of dark colour then the shirt should be of
complimentary light colour. e.g. a light blue shirt with dark blue
trousers.
• Loud and big checks and prints of any kind are to be avoided.
• All tattoos must be covered while at work.
• Always carry a clean hanky

Accessories
• Jewellery, if worn, should be very simple and conservative.
Nothing more than a simple ring and a very fine gold chain is acceptable.
• Briefcases should be leather; brown and black are the best colours.
• Watches should be simple and plain. Avoid leather, metal straps are the best.
• Belts should be leather and should match or complement shoes
(blue/black/gray suit = black belt and shoes; brown/tan/beige suit = brown belt
and shoes). The buckle should be simple and sober.
• Use Tie pins and cuff links as they add to your professional demeanour.
• Black/brown lace up shoes, cap toe, and wingtips are the most ideal
• Shoes should be well polished and in good condition.
• Socks should not bunch around your ankles.

Female Dressing
• Never wear contrasting undergarments under light tops as it will show.
• Your shirts collar, cuffs should be clean and there should be no missing
buttons
• If wearing a sari, it is advisable to wear chiffon, georgette simple print
sarees . Sari should be worn neatly in a professional style.
• Loud colours, double shaded saris should be avoided
• No cut sleeves blouse, or plunging neck lines.
• Do not match Indian and western clothes.
• Never wear bright or loud shocking colours, clinging or short skirts,
trousers without a jacket and see through fabrics.
• Always carry a clean hanky.
• All tattoos must be covered while at work.

Accessories
• Simple pearls, white gold, silver and precious stones look very elegant than chunky gold
jewellerys.
• Bangles or ‘Kadha’s which do not jingle with Indian dresses and a fine bracelet with
western dress can be worn to work.
• Earrings should not dangle below the ear lobe. No more than an inch in length is
acceptable.
• Nose pins and studs are acceptable. Nose rings are unprofessional.
• Always wear sheer socks/ stockings with shoes under skirts. No bare skin should show.
• Match the colour of your purse and shoes
