Introduction:
● Art is something that is created, and an artist must be the one
who creates it.
● The word “Artist” is generally defined as an art practitioner such
as a painter, sculptor, choreographer, pooet, musicians, and the
like.
● They are the one who created or produces indirectly functional
arts with aesthetic value using unique skills and creative
imagination.
● Artist provides color to our world and express the beauty of
surroundings.
● They are creative individuals who use their imaginations and
skills to communicate in a form of Art.
Notable Artist
LEONARDO DA VINCI - Is an
Italian painter, draftsman,
sculptor, architect, and
engineer who epitomized the
Renaissance humanist ideal.
His Mona Lisa in 1503 and
The Last Supper in 1498 are
regarded as the most popular
and influential paintings of the
Renaissance.

● Artisan is essentially a manual worker who makes
items with their own hands and who through
skill, experience, and talent.
● Artisan also considered as a craftsman such as
carpenter, carver, weaver embroiderer and so on.
● Artisans are master of their crafts and can create
products that can help us in meeting our basic
needs.
● Artisans also learn their techniques from their
family and community.
MANAGER
● The certain individual who supervises and facilitate
creative projects and oversees the overall work of the
artists.
● The one who provides everything it needs to function
both as a business and as an artistic entity.
● Managers are of expertise is very wide, they oversee
hiring, training, and supervising the artists, the one
who handles organization budget, work with the
Board of Trustees.
Production
Process
PRE-PRODUCTION
● Pre-production for a movie typically begins as soon
as the decision to make it is made.
● It may also involve setting up the set, finding
locations, finding or securing permission at each
site, hiring a crew to shoot and edit the movie, and
drafting the script.
● Casting the movie entails hiring actors to portray
the roles.
PRODUCTION
● Production, or more “principal photography,”
refers to the actual filming.
● Principal photography als designates a kind of
point of no return for most films because it is often
difficult tor impossible to recover costs without a
finished product once production begins.
● Oce main photography of a film in complete, it is
called a “wrap”.
POST-PRODUCTION
● The visual and audio assets are modified at the
post-production stage once the shooting is
complete.
● Post-production encompassses all the steps
required in cutting raw film, putting the footage
together, adding music, dubbing, and sound
effects, to name a few.
● The length of post-production process varies
depending on the size and specifications of the
film, although it might last several months or
even a full year.

TECHNIQUE
APPROACH
Technique is the artist’s understanding of his
medium and ability to manipulate it to produce the
desired results. Despite using the same medium
artist have different techniques.
BLOWING TECHNIQUES - To
spread paint, distribute molten
crayons on paper or shape
molten glass using electric hair
blowers, blowing techniques are
used to force air into the work
area.
Transfer Design - involves a design in
another media, which is then transferred
using acetone and pressure from a
burnishing stick to another medium like
Xerox copy to boards or another paper.
Metal,wood, and textiles can all be used to
reproduce designs.
Tinkering – Someone who strives to repair
anything mechanical or invents such gadgets.
The process of creating and repairing. It
illustrates how concepts are developed and
understood when working with the hands.
When we interact physically especially with our
hands, we produce a wide range of sensory
Splattering – involves utilizing brushes and other
tools to flick,toss, or drip paint onto a painting
surface. Splattering doesn’t require professional
training because it encourages
improvisation,spontaneity and a very physical
method of creating art in contrast to other forms of

Throwing- In pottery refers to creating a
pot on a potter’s wheel using a chunk of

GAMABA (Gawad sa Manlilikha
ng Bayan Award or National
Living Treasures Award), is an
award that acknowledges folk
and indigenous artists who,
despite the modern times remain
true to their traditions.
EMBLEM - The award
logo is a representation
of the human form used
in traditional cloth.
Below we can see the
phrase “Manlilikha ng
Bayan” (an ancient
Filipino script used in
the Philippines in the
16th century.

AWARDEE
Ginaw Bilog - Known to his poet
GAMABA 1993. He is from Hanunuo
Mangyan Panaytayan, Oriental
Mindoro (1993). He helped preserved
the Mangyan literary tradition by
documenting the pieces of Ambahan
recorded. The Ambahan is a king of
poem consisting of seven syllables
lines.
MASINO INTARAY - He is
Musician and storyteller,
GAMABA 1993 Pala'wan Brookes
Point, Palawan (1993). He is a
Musician and Poet whose
expertise where the Basal,
Kulilal, and Bagit.
SAMAON SULAIMAN - He is a
Musician, GAMABA 1993. He is
from MAMASA PANO,
Maguindanao (1993). He's a
master in the use of the
kulintang and kutyapi of the
Maguindanaons.
LANG DULAY - Known to her
Textile weaver, GAMABA 1998.
She from T'boli, Lake Sebu
South Cotabato. The T'boli are
knowns for their use of abaca
fibers in textile weaving.
SALINTA MONON - She is a
textile weaver, GAMABA 1998.
She is from Tagabawa Bagobo,
Bansalan, Davao del Sur. Start
weaving at the age of 12 through
the guidance of her mother.
ALONZO SACLAG - He is musician
and dancer, GAMABA 2000 located
from Lubugan, Kalinga. A master of
dance and performing arts. He has
worked for the preservation of Kalinga
culture.
FEDERICO CABALLERO - He is an Epic
ChanterGAMABA 2000 from Sulod-Bukidnon,
Calinog, Iloilo. He works for the documentation
of the oral literature, particularly the epics of
his people. He's a Panay-Bukidnon from the
mountains of Central Penay, has worked hard
to document the oral literature of his people. He
has preserved the epics that use a language
that has long been dead by working together
with schars, artists, and advocates of culture.
UWANG AHADAS - He is Musician,
GAMABA 2000, Yakan, Lamitan,
BasailanHe is a Yakan, a people to
whom instrumental music is closely
connected to the spiritual realm. He
has made it his life's work to preserve
and promote Yakan culture through
the traditional music and instruments
of his tribe.
DARHATA SAWABI - A Textile
Weaver, GAMABA 2004 from
Tausug, Parang, Sulu. Weaving
Pis Syabit, the traditional
clothtapestory worn as a head
covering by the Tausug of Jolo.
TEOFILO GARCIA - He is a
Casque maker, GAMABA 2012
from Ilokana, San Quintin, AbraHe
had learned how to make gourd
casques and weave baskets from
his grandfather at the age of 16.
MAGDALENA GAMAYO - Based in
Pinili, Ilocos Norte, Magdalena
Gamayo took up weaving when
she was 16, guided by her aunt's
patterns. She received her first
loom from her father three years
later, which she would end up
using for 30 years.
