    Nouns
    :
    Noun is the
    name of a
    person, place
    or a thing.
    Common Noun
    •Common noun is the
    name given in common
    to something. A common
    noun always starts with
    small letter.
    • Example: boy, cat,
    house.
    Proper noun
    • Proper Noun is a name given
    particularly to a person,
    place or a thing. A proper
    noun usually starts with a
    capital letter.
    • Example: Ali, Quaid-Azam,
    Effil Tower
    Collective Noun
    • A collective noun is a word
    referring to a collection of
    things taken as a whole.
    • Example: team, class,
    gang, bunch.
    Abstract Noun
    • An abstract noun is a
    noun denoting an idea,
    quality, or state rather
    than a concrete object.
    • Example: truth, happiness,
    honesty.
    Concrete Noun
    • A concrete noun is a noun
    that can be identified through
    one of the five senses (taste,
    touch, sight, hearing, or
    smell).
    • Example: table, chair, noise.
