QUADRATIC
EQUATIONS
Have you encountered any equations
that involve squared variables before?

What is the difference between linear

and quadratic equations?

How do you illustrate quadratic

equations?
What is the importance of
Quadratic Equations?
A QUADRATIC EQUATION in one variable is a
mathematical sentence of degree of 2 that
can be written in the standard form 𝒂𝒙 + 𝒃𝒙 +
𝟐

𝒄 = 𝟎, where 𝒂, 𝒃 and 𝒄 are real numbers

and 𝒂 ≠ 𝟎. In the equation, 𝒂𝒙𝟐 is the
quadratic term, 𝒃𝒙 is the linear term, and 𝒄 is
the constant term.
