T’boli
• Found in the province of South Cotabato in
Southern Mindanao
• They are engaged in farming (rice, corn, cassava, and
root crops) and hunting and fishing

Attire and Body Accessories
Women: their dress includes a long-sleeved, tight-fitting,
collarless, and waist-length blouse and an ankle-length
tubular skirt. They can use all the body accessories that
they can wear as many as they want.
Their clothes is made of t’nalak cloth

by the t’boli themselves.

The T’boli people are well-known for


their beadworks, brass ornaments, and
woven materials. They wear very colorful
dresses and accessories. The overlapping
of shapes is also observable. Red, yellow
and black is seen in their attire and body
accessories.

YAKAN
• They are from the southern Philippines in Mindanao,
Basilan Island
• They are engaged in making textiles known as
semmek
• They make body accessories, and produce other crafts
from abaca, pineapple, and bamboo fibers like clothes,
home decors, wallets, slippers, placemats, table
runners, and other items.

Attire and body accessories
Both Yakan males and females wear colorful handwoven
clothes. Their attire consists of a top (badju) and trousers
(salwal), they wear narrow cut pants, their blouses and
trousers are tight at the sleeves and leggings. The females
use body accessories which include colorful necklaces
with lots of beads, shells, and coins.

TAUSUG
• They are from Jolo, Sulu in Mindanao, Pata, Tapul,
Lugus, and Siasi islands.
• They are engaged in fishing, inter-island trade,
livestock raising, and metalwork and their main
source of survival is agriculture. Their major crops are
copra from coconuts, fruits, abaca, and coffee.

ATTIRE and Body Accessories
• Women- wear blouses made of plain material like
satin. These are decorated with gold or silver buttons
on the shoulders, breast, and on the fold at the end of
the sleeves
• Men- wear tight trousers (kuput) matched with a
collarless, short tailored jacket. The tausugs
patadyung is sometimes used as head cover, blanket,
and wristband.

TIRURAY
• They are from the northwestern part of South
Cotabato.
• They gather forest products, farm in agricultural lands,
weave baskets, catch fishes and hunt animals for a
living.

• Women and men wear elaborate costume that covers
almost the entire part of their body.
• Women- wear sarong made from abaca fiber with
blouses that fully fit their body. They wear accessories
such as brass anklets, colored crystal necklaces, and
brass cords, and belts.
• Men- wear waist-length shirts, long trousers and
overlapping cloth hanging on their shoulders.

Chieffy Caligdong Highlights
Caligdong made his debut in the 2004 Tiger Cup , playing all four
matches and scoring three goals. Two of those goals came in the 89th
and 92nd minute in the 2–1 win over Timor-Leste, making it the first
ever victory of the Philippines in the ASEAN Football Championship.
He has also played for the Philippines U-23 at the 
2005 Southeast Asian Games and in the pre-SEA Games tournament
where he scored against Myanmar and Timor-Leste.
On the first match of the Philippines in the Qualifying playoff round of
the 2012 AFC Challenge Cup qualification against Mongolia, Caligdong
scored a goal in the 43rd minute.
On September 30, 2011, Caligdong scored two goals in a draw against Hong Kong
 and two more goals on October 4 against Macau in the 2011 Long Teng Cup.
Caligdong, who shrugged off injuries to score both goals against Macau, emerged
the top scorer for the tournament, earning the Golden Boot trophy.
On September 29, 2012, Caligdong scored a goal on the 34th minute in the last
match of the 2012 Philippine Peace Cup versus Chinese Taipei which ended in a
3–1 score line. The Philippines got the championship title with a 3 win, no draw
and no loss record.
On November 27, 2012, Caligdong who came in as a substitute in the 2nd half
and scored an important goal for the Philippines in a 1–0 victory against Vietnam
 in the 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup. The Philippines eventually finished second in the 
group stage and qualified for the semi finals with a 2 win, 1 loss record.
