Let’s have a review!

What does each part of the “bunch of grapes” model represent, in

relation to the breathing system?

How will you describe the pathway of oxygen in the breathing

system?

What will happen if one part of the system fails to carry out its
function properly?
Respiratory system
Is made up of organs in the body
that help us to breathe.

CIRCULATORY SYSTEM
Is responsible for distributing
materials throughout the body.
Parts of the
Circulatory
System

1. HEART- pumps the blood

throughout the body.
Parts of the
Circulatory System

2. BLOOD VESSEL- carries the blood

throughout the body
Types of
Arteries – carry oxygenated
blood away from the heart to the
cells tissues, and organs of the

blood vessel
body
Veins – carry deoxygenated
blood to the heart

Capillaries – the smallest

blood vessels in the body connecting
the smallest arteries to the smallest
veins
- the actual site where gases
and nutrients are exchanged.

to the lungs, and back to the heart.
 Coronary Circulation – movement of the blood through the
tissues of the heart.
 Systemic Circulation – movement of the blood from the heart to
