General Safety - Principles

1. Workplace injuries are

preventable.
2. Workplace injuries are costly .
3. Be safe, act safe, and lead
through example.
4. Remember attitude is contagious.
5. Individual safety performance has
a direct bearing on his ability to
work in the company.

6. Unauthorized possession of illegal drugs,
firearms, weapons, highly caffeinated energy
drinks, alcohol & narcotics is not permitted on
any ADC rig.

7. Stolen Items, Contraband, cell phone are

prohibited. .

8. You have to dress well on and off duty

9. Smoking is only allowed in designated areas.

10. Workplace violence is a matter of Disciplinary

action. It is Everybody responsibility to report
any workplace violence.

1. Use caution when using walkways (maintain good footing and balance).
2. keep one hand free to hold handrails.
3. get help with baggage or make multiple trips.(offshore)
4. Sign in at checkpoint with person in charge or dispatcher (offshore).

 Home away from home:

1. Be prepared for unexpected extended stays.
2. Bring sufficient quantities of personal items.

 Simultaneous operation
Operation happening or being done at exactly the same time,
exposing work force to additional hazard.

 QHSE meetings –

 You will participate in a QHSE meeting at least once a week.

 QHSE Drills –

 Types -
Fire, blowout, rescue, H2S, man overboard, lifeboat
launching and spill drill.

 Why?
To verify that everyone knows his duties for a given type
of emergency.
 Pre-job “toolbox” meeting

 Informal, at the work site

 Held prior to performing any non-routine job

 Land transport
ADC have three assembly points

1) DHAHRAN BASE
2) KHFJI BASE
3) HAFOF CITY

ADC provide transportation with company vehicle or designated taxi

between airports, assembly points and rigs

Note: Traveling with personal car from and to Rigs is forbidden

General Safety

 Water transport
 The captain is in command and has complete authority
 Wear your PPE when boarding or leaving the vessel
 Report to the vessel crew for seating assignment and baggage
storage
 Study the vessel station bill and know your responsibilities in case of
an emergency
 All passenger have to listen carefully to the pre-trip safety briefing

(if you don’t understand do not hesitate to ask)

 Swing Ropes
 Made of fiber.
 It has special approved specification for man lifting.
 Used to help offshore employees to swing between the boat and
platform.
 Not used in Saudi Arabia.

Arrival at Shore base

 Arrive in time one hour early and in good

physical condition

 Check in with dispatcher and inquire as to site

specific orientation

 Identify carry-on baggage (weight, quantity,

hazardous materials)

 Stand-by in designated waiting area until

instructed to proceed by dispatcher or person

Helicopter Transportation

 The Pilot is in command and has complete authority

 Board only when instructed to do so by pilot
 Avoid the main rotor and tail rotor
 Secure loose items and hats The local national dress
( Thob ) is not permitted at helicopters
 Keep all objects over 4 feet in the horizontal position
 Secure personal baggage in the baggage
compartment. Never go aft of the baggage
compartment.

 No smoking in and around helicopter

 Wear seat belt and the PFD provided in the helicopter
 Alert the pilot to anything unusual inside or outside
the craft
 Be attentive during helicopter orientation

Note: All offshore employees must attend HUET training

prior to going offshore rigs.

Emergency Response

Statement
 Minimum Emergency Response measures, covering planning,
exercises and training, shall be implemented
Objective
 To ensure that all locations are adequately prepared to deal with
emergencies to safeguard the safety and health of employees,
clients and contractors under control; and the protection of
company assets and the environment where we work.
Scope
 Applies to all operating locations at all times

 Emergency Response
 Plans to cope with all aspects of an emergency shall
be created and exercised on a regular basis to
ensure that all parties concerned with Emergency
Response / Crisis Management are aware of their
roles and responsibilities

 Plan shall include interfaces with other locations,

clients, local emergency services, government, local
community organizations and technical experts as
required.

 Short service employees: New hire and newly

promoted employee will be assigned a mentor to
ensure compliance with HSE rules & responsibility's.

Emergency Response

Alarms:
1.Types:
Fire, Blowout, Abandon rig, H2S, Combustible gas,
Man overboard and all clear .

2. Action to take:
 Know locations of emergency equipment (SCBA, life jackets )
and muster areas.
 Know location of emergency contact information
