Orthostatic incompetence (or intolerance):
 legs still when upright = blood trapped in the legs
 heartbeat goes up but ineffective
 body abruptly slows the heart = heart attack

 Emergency services to be contacted immediately
 Must come rapidly to minimize the dangers of
suspension trauma
 Ifpossible and conscious, self rescue is most
desirable
