CTRB
CTRB. Cartridge Taper
roller bearings with
technology from
Brenco, USA, have the
outstanding property
of requiring no field
lubrication. They are
mainly used in various
wagons like BOXN,
BCN, BTPN, etc.
designed by the Indian
railway
CASNUB BOGIE
The Casnub bogie
comprises of two cast steel
frames and a floating
bolster. The bolster is
supported on the side
frame through groups of
nested helical springs.
This also provides a
friction damping
proportional to load. A
fabricated mild steel spring
plank connects the side
frames.
AIR BREAK
Modern locomotives employ
two air brake systems. The
system which controls the
brake pipe is called the
automatic brake and
provides service and
emergency braking control
for the entire train. The
locomotive(s) at the head of
the train (the "lead consist")
have a secondary system
called the independent
brake.
WHEEL
Railway wheel is
assembly of two
wheels fixed to the axle
by interference fit and
they rotate along with
the axle, without any
independent relative
movement as in the
case of other
automobile wheels.
MILLWRIGHT
A Millwright is a skilled
craftsperson who
installs, repairs and
reassembles machinery
in factories and on
construction sites.
Millwrights usually work
on contract and might
only be on a job site for
a few days or weeks,
depending on the type
of job.
WAGON BODY
It consists of body side
and ends with their
supporting structures such
as stanchions, copings,
roof structures, carlines;
roof sheets in the case of
covered wagons; hoppers
and their supporting
members in case of hopper
wagons; tank barrels,
cladding, if any, and
supporting saddles in the
case of tank wagons
