TRAINING PROGRAM

EXPECTATION
• Anand seeks an innovative and enjoyable training program by mid-April.
• The program aims to improve the team's strategic thinking, scenario planning, virtual teamwork, knowledge management, market understanding, and
negotiation skills.
• Monica Mehta, the training manager at IndCo, is in charge of arranging the program.
• Due to a lack of expertise, she decided to outsource the project.
• Atul Pathak from XLRI's Strategic Management faculty was appointed to meet Anand's expectations and deadlines.
• Anand, Monica, and Atul had a meeting to discuss the project's requirements and proposal.

TRAINING
• Pathak proposes an eight-session, two-day program.
• It includes group discussions, case studies, and strategic thinking activities.
• Suggests involving members from other departments for better cohesion.
• Promises a customized Lego exercise to reinforce MRD's strategy concepts.
TRAINING PROGRAM (CONTD)
ISSUES FACED

• Challenges in terms of budget approval, venue arrangements, and internal approval processes.
• She needs firm budgt approval from Anand, needs to tentatively freeze the program dates and duration, and determine whether
the program will be conducted at XLRI or within IMDC's own facilities.
• Mehta also needs to know if Pathak requires any special infrastructure for the program.

ISSUES WITH PERSONALIZED PROGRAM

REQUIREMENT
1. IMDC did not have any current program that met the requirement
2. Mehta had no experience in training on the required topics
3. Mehta would require a lot of efforts to prepare and deliver training by herself
4. Deadline Constraints- Very Short deadline requirement set by Anand
