What is CSR
CSR is a way for businesses to be socially accountable to themselves, their stakeholders, and the general public.
Businesses can be aware of their effects on the economy, society, and the environment by taking part in
corporate social responsibility, which is also called corporate citizenship.
CSR means that in the normal course of business, a company does things that help society and the environment
instead of hurting them.

Why CSR?
Argument over CSR
• Companies' freedom to conduct business in
society is not unassailable.
• Those in charge of businesses should understand
their reliance on society.
• Institutions that were developed via social
interaction are essential to business
• There is a social contract between business and
society that outlines shared responsibilities that
both parties acknowledge they have to one
another.
