WHAT IS CAPTION?

● Caption is an explanation for a picture

or an illustration, especially in a
magazine or newspaper
● Caption usually appears below
pictures, photos, graphics, posters, and
even tables.
● Captions are usually also used to
emphasize
the content of an article, essay, or report.
 THE FUNCTION OF CAPTION

● To tell the reader or viewer about

what’s happening in the picture, video,
table or graph.
