 I) Hợp tác chính trị và ngoại giao
● Sau khi bình thường hóa quan hệ năm 1991 đến nay, qua nhiều thách thức, mối quan hệ Việt Nam - Trung
Quốc được tạo nên bởi các nhà lãnh đạo tiền bối là Chủ tịch Hồ Chí Minh và Chủ tịch Mao Trạch Đông với
cơ sở bền vững truyền thống, hai nhà lanh đạo đã trực tiếp kiến lập, dày công vun đắp, phát triển
nhanh chông và sâu rộng trên tất cả các lĩnh vực, đem lại nhiều lợi ích thiết thực cho cả hai bên.
● Tháng 11-1991, Tổng Bí thư Ban Chấp hành Trung ương Đảng Cộng sản Việt Nam Đỗ Mười và Chủ tịch
Hội đồng Bộ trưởng Võ Văn Kiệt thăm Trung Quốc, đánh dấu chính thức bình thường hóa và mở ra một
trang sử mới trong quan hệ giữa hai nước.
● Trong chuyến thăm Trung Quốc của Tổng Bí thư Ban Chấp hành Trung ương Đảng Cộng sản Việt Nam Lê
Khả Phiêu tháng 2-1999, hai nước xác định phương châm 16 chữ thúc đẩy quan hệ hai nước trong thế kỷ
XXI là "láng giềng hữu nghị, hợp tác toàn diện, ổn định lâu dài, hướng tới tương lai".
● Năm 2005, hai bên thỏa thuận đưa quan hệ hai nước phát triển trên phương châm “bốn tốt”: “láng giềng tốt,
bạn bè tốt, đồng chí tốt, đối tác tốt”.
● tháng 5-2008, trong chuyến thăm chính thức Trung Quốc của Tổng Bí thư Ban Chấp hành Trung ương
Đảng Cộng sản Việt Nam Nông Đức Mạnh, hai bên thống nhất nâng tầm quan hệ thành “quan hệ đối tác và
hợp tác chiến lược toàn diện”
 Đảng và nhân dân hai nước cùng chung tay vun đắp và xây dựng mối quan hệ hợp tác phát triển bền vững,
lâu dài.
 II) Hợp tác về an ninh, quốc phòng
• Chuyến thăm Trung Quốc của Đại tướng, Bộ trưởng Bộ Quốc phòng Việt Nam Phùng Quang
Thanh năm 2010.
• Chuyến thăm chính thức Việt Nam của Thượng tướng Lương Quang Liệt, Bộ trưởng Quốc phòng
Trung Quốc và dự Hội nghị Bộ trưởng Quốc phòng các nước ASEAN mở rộng cuối năm 2010.
• Chuyến thăm chính thức Việt Nam của Thượng tướng Quách Bá Hùng, Phó Chủ tịch Quân ủy
Trung ương Trung Quốc đầu năm 2011.
• Trong cuộc Đối thoại chiến lược quốc phòng - an ninh lần thứ hai (tháng 8-2011), hai bên thống
nhất tiếp tục đẩy mạnh hợp tác trên nhiều lĩnh vực, như tăng cường trao đổi đoàn, sớm hoàn thành
đường dây nóng giữa hai bộ quốc phòng.
• Thượng tướng Hà Vệ Đông chao mừng Đại tướng Phan Văn Giang lần đầu tiên thăm chính thức
Trung Quốc trên cương vị Phó Bí thư Quân ủy Trung ương, Bộ trưởng Bộ Quốc phòng Việt Nam và
dự Diễn đàn Hương Sơn Bắc Kinh đúng dịp kỷ niệm 15 năm hai nước nâng cấp quan hệ lên “Đối
tác Hợp tác Chiến lược Toàn diện;”
 Hợp tác quốc phòng Việt Nam - Trung Quốc phát triển mạnh mẽ với việc hai bên thường
xuyên trao đổi thông tin nhằm tạo sự tin cậy, hiểu biết lẫn nhau.
 III) Hợp tác về kinh tế
• Năm 1991, kim ngạch thương mại hai bên chỉ là 32 triệu USD. Năm 2010, kim ngạch thương mại song
phương đã lên tới 27,3 tỉ USD.
• Sáu tháng đầu năm 2011, kim ngạch thương mại hai nước đạt 15,7 tỉ USD, chiếm 33,1% tổng kim ngạch
ngoại thương của Việt Nam, dự kiến sẽ vượt 30 tỉ USD trong năm 2011 và mục tiêu năm 2015 là 50 tỉ USD.
• Về đầu tư trực tiếp, trong 9 năm kể từ khi bình thường hóa (tháng 11-1991 đến tháng 12-1999), Trung Quốc
mới có 76 dự án với tổng số vốn đầu tư theo giấy phép là 120 triệu USD, thì 10 năm sau, tính đến hết năm
2010, Trung Quốc đầu tư 743 dự án tại Việt Nam với số vốn đầu tư lên tới hơn 3 tỉ USD, đứng thứ 11 trong
tổng số 92 quốc gia và vùng lãnh thổ đầu tư tại Việt Nam.
 Kim ngạch thương mại hai nước không ngừng phát triển trong 20 năm qua, đặc biệt là trong những
năm đầu thế kỷ XXI.
 IV) Hợp tác về giáo dục - đào tạo, văn hóa
- Hiện số học sinh Việt Nam tại Trung Quốc là hơn 12.000 người, đứng thứ hai trong tổng số hơn
60.000 lưu học sinh Việt Nam đang học tập tại nước ngoài.
- Số học sinh Trung Quốc, nhất là học sinh các vùng Quảng Tây, Vân Nam, Quảng Đông, học tập tại
Việt Nam cũng ngày càng gia tăng.
- Trên lĩnh vực văn hóa giữa hai bên cũng đạt được nhiều thành tựu, nhất là giao lưu văn hóa truyền
thống, triển lãm hội họa, xuất bản, báo chí, điện ảnh…
- Từ năm 1991cho đến nay, Việt Nam đã cử hơn 200 đoàn đại biểu văn hóa sang Trung Quốc biểu
diễn, khảo sát và học hỏi.
- Trung Quốc cũng cử hàng trăm đoàn giao lưu văn hóa hữu nghị với Việt Nam.
>Trong 10 năm trở lại đây, hợp tác giáo dục - đào tạo hai nước phát triển hết sức mạnh mẽ.
