CLIMATE CHANGE
It is the long-term change in Earth's average weather patterns,
including temperature, precipitation, and other factors. Human
activities, like burning fossil fuels and deforestation, primarily
cause an increase in greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere.

COPING WITH CLIMATE CHANGE &
SOLUTIONS
Here are some of the solutions to avert Climate Change:
● Reduce greenhouse gas emissions
● Reforestation and Afforestation
● Sustainable Agriculture
● Adaptation Measures
● International Cooperation
● Public Awareness
● Research and Innovation
RENEWABLE ENERGY
It is an energy generated from natural sources that is replenished at
higher rates than it is consumed. Sunlight, wind rain, tides, waves,
and geothermal heat are examples of such sources that are
constantly supplied. Renewable energy sources are abundant all
around us. These sources are sustainable and have minimal
environmental impact.
TYPES OF RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCE

● Solar Energy
● Wind Energy
● Geothermal Energy
● Hydropower harnesses
● Ocean Energy
● Bioenergy
NON-RENEWABLE
ENERGY
It refers to energy sources that cannot be naturally replenished on a
human timescale and are finite in nature. Non-renewable energy is
derived from sources that will diminish or will not be replenished
within our lives—or perhaps many lifetimes.
TYPES OF NON-RENEWABLE ENERGY
SOURCE
Non-renewable energy comes from sources that will eventually
run out, such as:
● Fossil fuels/Coal are a valuable source of energy.
● Petroleum is a liquid fossil fuel. It is also called oil or crude
oil.
● Natural Gas
● Uranium
WHY SHOULD WE USE RENEWABLE
ENERGY?
Non-Transitioning to renewable energy sources is a more sustainable, long-term solution to
address these issues.

1. Environmental sustainability - reducing environmental harm from fossil fuels, such as

air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, is the main justification for using renewable
energy.
2. Resource Availability - Renewable energy sources are abundant and widely available,
making them a reliable long-term energy solution.
3. Energy Independence - relying on renewables reduces dependence on finite fossil fuel
reserves, enhancing energy security.

4. Economic Benefits - renewable energy can stimulate job growth and foster innovation
in green technologies.

To use renewable energy, we can install solar panels on rooftops to capture sunlight for
electricity. Additionally, wind turbines can be used to convert wind energy into electricity.
Geothermal energy can tap into the earth's heat for heating and electricity. Biomass is
another option. Utilize organic materials (wood, crops, and waste) for bioenergy production.
BENEFITS OF USING RENEWABLE
RESOURCES
1. Reduced Carbon Emissions
• One of the significant effects is a decrease in greenhouse gas emissions,
mitigating climate change.

2. Improved Air Quality

• The use of renewables reduces air pollutants, leading to better public health.

3. Sustainable Development
• Promoting renewables can lead to sustainable economic development and
increased energy access in remote areas.
