Foundation
 It is a substructure of a building or structure.

 It is situated below the existing ground level.

 It is the lowest part of structure and has direct contact with ground.

 It bears the load from super structure and distributes the load into soil.

 It transfers the load of super structure over a large area without stressing the soil
beyond it’s capacity.

Pile Foundation & Cast In-Situ Pile

Pile Foundation:
A Pile foundation, a kind of deep foundation, can be defined as a slender column or long
cylinder made of materials such as concrete or steel which are used to support the structure
and transfer the load at desired depth either by end bearing or skin friction.

Cast In-Situ Pile:

Cast-in-situ pile is a type of pile which is entirely constructed on a project site. The
construction process includes drilling the borehole, fabrication and placement of reinforcement
cages, and placement of concrete. Certain steps of pile construction can be carried out at the
same time.
