This document is a thesis that examines improving English speaking skills for students at the University of Iqra Buru through the use of Yahoo Messenger. The study involved 15 students who took pre-tests and post-tests measuring accuracy, fluency, and comprehensibility before and after using Yahoo Messenger. Statistical analysis found significant improvements in all areas tested. A student interest survey also found that 88% of students had a very high interest level in using Yahoo Messenger. The thesis concludes that Yahoo Messenger is effective at improving university students' English speaking skills.
