 Introduction

• All new or expansion projects listed in EIA Notification-2006 requires

Environmental Clearance (EC) from Ministry of Environment & Forests.
• Total time for grant of EC is 4 to 6 months
• No construction can be started unless EC is awarded
• Only boundary wall & guard cabin for project site can be constructed
before grant of EC. Strictly no excavation allowed.

LTR Design team takes responsibility for evaluation of

EIA Consultant, and coordination with all
stakeholders for timely EC approval

 EIA Consultant

• Services of EIA Consultant (registered with MoEF) is mandatory.

• Consultant to carry out all work from submission of application up
to grant of EC.

We have identified and are currently assessing the following EIA

consultants for our upcoming projects:

• Time of EC procedure is reduced if homework is well done.

• Advance compilation of data for Form 1, EIA Report, Public Hearing and
Presentation saves time.
• Data & information can be immediately submitted to EIA Consultant and the
regulatory authority as and when required.

• Accuracy of data in documents avoids deferrals and resubmissions to SEIAA & thus
saves time.
• Data in site plan, EIA & public hearing documents must match.
• Good communication between client, EIA consultant, MEP consultant, etc.,
maintains uniformity of data. (No work in isolation)

 Target Time for Allied Studies

• To start following studies simultaneously with baseline environmental monitoring:

1. Shadow/Wind Analysis
2. Land Use Pattern
3. Traffic Analysis
4. ECBC
5. Carbon footprint

• It helps in preparation of the EIA Report in shortest time.

• Follow-up with EIA consultant is necessary to complete allied studies on time

 Coordination with EIA Consultant

• Constant follow-up with EIA consultant is vital for timely completion of each activity.

• Sharing project data with the consultant without delays is pivotal.

• If job progress of consultant is not monitored efficiently, EC procedure may get

delayed.

 Coordination with Statutory Authority

Coordination and follow-up with the statutory authorities:

• Pollution Control Board
• MoEF
• Forest Department
• District Collector
• Municipal Corporation

Quick Actions:
• Not waiting for official mails from authority, rather being forthcoming and
proactive.
• Provide information & clarification during visit to authority’s office.
• Being prepared for authority visit on site.
• Helps get approvals in the shortest time.
