and Immersion (3i’s) TITLE PROPOSAL RATIONAL PAPER I. GENERAL SUBJECT AREA: Video Tutorial.
II. SPECIFICT TOPIC: Effect of You Tube
Video Tutorial to the student’s skills. III. PROPOSE RESEARCH TITLE:
“Effect of Video Tutorial to the
Skill Acquisition of Computer System Servicing Student” IV. RATIONALE or JUSTIFICATION Introduction The K-12 was design the 2 years senior high school to prepare the students to become competent and ready for employment. According to Doctolero (2023). The current K- 12 program in the Philippines, which was implemented in 2012, covers kindergarten, six years of primary education, four years of junior high school, and two years of senior high school to prepare graduates for tertiary education, middle- level skills development, employment and entrepreneurship. On our previous research titled “Troubleshooting Awareness of TVL-ICT Student Towards NC II Assessment” we found out that the respondent has a little knowledge in trouble shooting and averagely practice the core competencies in Computer System Servicing. As reported to the study of Delizo (2019). It was found out that most of the TVL students did not have enough ICT literacy skills, especially in word processing and spreadsheets applications. It was also notable that most students are not that literate when it comes to online research. In this contemporary time there are many ways to improve our acquired skills or knowledge. You tube is one of the famous online plat-form that facilitates education for those who has an initiative to learn. Video tutorials is one of the famous catalysts to refine our ability or learned new set of skills. Just as EuroEducation.net (2024) say YouTube has evolved as an effective, educative platform, altering the educational landscape and democratizing access to information. With its attractive videos and engaging information, YouTube gives educators and learners an unprecedented chance to engage, inspire, and change learning. Also, according to Maynard (2021). More and more people are turning to YouTube to expand their knowledge, develop their understanding, and learn new skills. These “casual learners”—loosely defined as individuals who are curious about a topic and are self- motivated to learn more about it. Justification From our previous research we found out that the CSS students has a little knowledge in trouble shooting and averagely practice core competencies in Computer System Servicing. According to the study of Roble (2021) A huge number of high school and college graduates lack the important knowledge and skills to be effective members of the workforce. Like of what DepEd aimed, the researcher want that the skills of the CSS student will be align to the expectation of the employer, and become a competitive member of workforce. In the article posted by PCCI Human Resources Development Foundation Inc. (2016). Giving its essential support to this educational reform, the business sector stepped up to the plate and promised to hire SHS graduates who meet standard hiring qualifications. With the economy projected to maintain its strong growth, more jobs will be created and industries would be eager to hire. The problem lies in the gap between the skills of the graduates and the actual requirements of the industries and businesses looking to employ staff. As much as educational reforms are being rolled out and certifications are given out, vocational education and training is currently largely disconnected from practice and does not sufficiently match the needs of the private sector. The youth are not sufficiently prepared during their vocational education for the actual requirements in the workplace, and hence, are only partly employable. The researcher would like to conduct a study on the effect of video tutorials to the CSS student to aid the lack of awareness in trouble shooting and to the core competencies in CSS. Taking advantage to the advancement of modern technology will help to improve and refine the skills of TVL CSS student in troubleshooting and in core competencies of CSS to become a reliable and effective worker in Information and Technology industry. According to Lopez (2023). Video tutorials have completely transformed the way we learn, making knowledge acquisition more accessible, engaging, and effective than ever before. With their captivating blend of visuals and step-by-step instructions, video tutorials have become an invaluable resource for mastering new skills. The researchers believe that with the help of video tutorials the skills and competencies of CSS student will be improve and align to the demand of the modern world. V.
