Background of the Study
A BUGS SPRAY ALSO KNOWN AS AN INSECT
REPELLENT IS A SUBSTANCE THAT CAN BE APPLIED TO
SKIN, OR OTHER SURFACES EVEN CLOTHING TO BACK
AWAY INSECTS FROM LANDING OR CLIMBING ON THAT
SURFACE. IT HELPS PREVENT AND CONTROL THE
OUTBREAK OF INSECT-BORNE DISEASES. THESE INSECT
REPELLENTS ARE BUG KILLERS, BUT MOST SIMPLY
DISCOURAGE INSECTS AND SEND THEM FLYING OR
CRAWLING AWAY. MAKING NATURAL-BASED BUGS SPRAY
IS NOT ONLY GOOD FOR THE USER BUT ALSO FOR THE
ENVIRONMENT AND ITS PRACTICALLY CHEAPER THAN
COMMERCIAL ONES WHICH ARE CHEMICAL-BASED.

STATEMENTS OF THE PROBLEM
Specifically, the researcher aims to determine the following:
1. What is the quality of the bugs spray generated from natural
ingredients in terms of:
a) insect repellence
b) odor
c) consistency

2. Is there a significant difference between the bugs spray generated

from natural ingredients from the commercial one?

3. What is the most effective among the treatments?

 SCOPE AND LIMITATION
The scope of this study are the Grade 9 students of
NDKC-IBED. Ten (10) students would be chosen each section
from four (4) sections, making a total of 40 population in survey.
This study will focus on the testing of the product based on the
parameters given. The product will be tested according to insect
repellence, odor and consistency of the formula. We will test the
product within the school vicinity where students are more
frequent, like classrooms, comfort rooms, the library and
faculty offices. Testing if multiple bugs specifically mosquitoes,
ants, bees, flies and others are repelled by the formula. The
researchers will plan to conduct the survey during weekdays
where classes are on-going. The materials used and ingredients
were locally available.
MATERIALS

The materials and equipment

used were: blender, sieve,
weighing scale, spatula,
mixing bowls, measuring cups
and spray bottles.
