KINEMATICS

Content Objectives
Students will be able to:
 Distinguished between rest and motion.

Language Objectives
Students will be able:
 Explain and write definition of kinematics.
 Differentiate between rest and motion
Introduction to KINEMATICS:
Kinematics is the study of motion of an object
without discussing the cause of motion
Rest and Motion:
 Rest:
A body is said to be at rest if it does
not change its position with respect to its
surrounding.

 Motion:A body is said to be in motion, if it

change its position with respect to its
surrounding.
TO SHOW THAT EVERY MOTION IS RELATIVE:

Infect the state of rest or motion of a body is

relative. For example, a person sitting in the cabin
of a moving train is at rest with respect to other
people in the cabin but is in motion with respect to
the man standing on the platform. Hence we can
say that the state of rest or motion is always
relative.
Extensive task/HOMEWORK
 1) Differentiate rest and motion .
 2)Write down the examples related to rest and

motion.
