“ On August 12, 1928, Soekarno wrote in

a. The Supreme Lordship Precepts

God has made history in the public sphere of the
archipelago. This can be proven by the ongoing
system of worship from various beliefs in the
religions that live in Indonesia. In all traditional
religious-political systems on earth, including in 10

Indonesia, religion has a central role in defining

social institutions
11

b. Just and Civilized Humanity Precepts

The Indonesian nation has long been known as a
maritime nation and has explored various parts of the
archipelago, even the world. The results of the
odyssey shaped the character of the Indonesian
nation, which Soekarno later referred to as 11

Internationalism or Humanity.
12

c. Indonesian Unity Precepts.

The Indonesian nationality reflects a unity in
diversity as well as newness and sorrow. Indonesia is
a plural pluralistic nation which is amazing because
social, cultural, and territorial plurality can be
integrated into an Indonesian national political 12

community.
13

d. Popular Precepts Guided by Wisdom in Deliberation /

Representation.
Democracy as a form of government for the people,
by the people, and for the people is a new
phenomenon in Indonesia, which emerged as a part of
the formation of the independent republic of
Indonesia. 13
14

e. Social justice for all the people of Indonesia.

A just and prosperous society is a dream of happiness
that has flared for hundreds of years in the heart of
the belief of the Indonesian people. The dream of
happiness is inscribed in the phrase "Gemah ripah loh
jinawi, the system of tentrem kerta raharja". 14
15

“ Pancasila as a philosophical system,

according to Notonagoro, is a whole
that cannot be separated. This means
that the principles of Pancasila are a
complete unity that is interrelated and
coherently interconnected.

15
16

The unity and relationship of the pyramidal

hierarchical Pancasila principles is described by
Notonagoro (1980: 110) with the form of a five-
tiered pyramid, the principle of One Godhead at the
top of the pyramid and the principle of Social Justice
for All Indonesians as the base of the pyramid.
16
17

The political sources of Pancasila as a

philosophical system can be classified
into two groups.
▪ The first group includes the political discourse on
Pancasila as a philosophical system at the
BPUPKI session, the PPKI session, and
Soekarno's public lecture between 1958 and 1959, 17
on a philosophical discussion of Pancasila
principles.
▪ The second group includes various political
arguments about Pancasila as a philosophical
system that was voiced back in the reform era in
Habibie's political speech on June 1, 2011.
