WHAT IS WRITTEN COMMUNICATION?


Written communication is defined as any type of
message that utilizes written words. It is the most
common form of business communication and has
become increasingly important throughout the
information age

THE MEMO

It is actually short for memorandum. It is one of the
most used means of official communication in the
business world. Its main purpose is to serve as a
reminder or to give some instructions. Again these like
circulars are means of mass communication,i.e. to
communicate with a large number of people within the
organisation.
REPORT

A report is a description of an event carried back to
someone who was not present on the scene. It may be
defined as an organized statement of facts related to a
particular subject prepared after an investigation is
made and presented to the interested persons. Report
can be oral or written, but in most of the cases it is
written
NOTICE

Notice are a means of formal communication
targetted at a particular person or a group of
persons. It is like a news item informing such
person or persons of some important event.
TELEGRAM

The telegram, born out of the 1800s, was once
a preferred form of communication for sending
a message. Telegrams are messages sent via
telegraph, a wire or eletric device. Typically,
telegrams were messages transmitted from one
party over wire to a telegraph operator.
FAX MESSAGE

A fax is the telephonic transmission of scanned-
in printed material (text or images), usually to a
telephone number associated with a printer or
other output device.
E-MAIL

E-mail(electronic mail) is a powerful low cost
communication tool that businesses are using
to promote their goods and services, that uses
electronic devices to deliver messages across
computer networks.
INTERNET DOMAIN

They are form of communication, which may be
downloaded. They are used by business
concerns for advertising their products and
services
ADVERTISEMENT

It is an industry used to call the attention of the
public to something,typically a product or
service.
CIRCULARS AND NOTICES

They are also frequently used forms of written
communication, which disseminate information
within a business organisation as well as
outside it as in the case of circulars and notices
to dealer from an industry.
