When solving a numerical expression that has more than one operation,
we follow the PMDAS/GMDAS rule. That is,

1. Perform the operation/s inside the parentheses or grouping first.


ex. (3 + 2) X 4 ÷ 2 =

2. Perform multiplication and division operations in order from left to right.


ex. 5 X 4 ÷ 2 or 4 ÷ 2 x 3

3. Perform addition and subtraction operations in order from left to right.


ex. 5 + 3 -1 or 5 – 3 + 1
