What should I do then when 2 verbs appear together? You should transform the 2nd verb.
What is a GERUND? A verb is an action.
I jog every morning.
Look like a verb We do a verb = jog
But they are a noun.

It is referring to the action of jogging as a noun or a


thing. This is gerund.

Form of gerund - Bare Infinitive (base form of Verb) + -ing


Jog = base form
Jogging = gerund

Common expressions you need to memorize:

1. Can’t stand: I can’t stand working with people who always show up late!
2. Can’t help: I can’t help thinking of those odd people.
3. It’s no use: It’s no use leaving a message, she never calls back anyway.
4. Worth (to be): It’s not worth spending so much money!
5. Have fun/a good time (or have trouble/difficulty, have a hard time/difficult time): We had fun playing
volleyball

I WISH I COULD FORGET FALLING DOWN THE STAIRS IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE SCHOOL.

Ex: What do you remember about your first date? I REMEMBER SLEEPING IN A CINEMA WHILE WE WERE

Remember + to infinitive = to talk about something someone needs to do, to remind them to do something.
REMEMBER TO TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES ON YOUR TRIP!
REMEMBER TO WHISK THE EGGS BEFORE ADDING THE SUGAR.
Regret + a gerund = to talk about something you did in the past that you aren’t happy about it anymore.

Mean + to infinitive = to intend or to plan to do something. (When it’s used in the past tense, this verb is especially

SHE MEANT TO PUT SUGAR IN YOUR COFFEE, BUT SHE ACCIDENTALLY ADDED SALT.
