We are thrilled to get to work with Ben Weber and his Smash Type curriculum. We explored a typewriter (we discovered you have to hit the keys really hard) and chose a letter which we stamped onto a personal name tag necklace. Then it was on to...the BIG stamps. Ben created oversize typewriter striking heads out of wooden dowels, orange juice bottles, and stamps. We used paintbrushes to ink the stamps, then practiced SMASHING them on the big white paper. our very own Classroom 6 Megillah! It says, The Megillah. We also examined pictures from the Passover story. We had to decide if they showed people who were free or not free. Eventually these pictures will accompany our own pictures in our class Torah.
