Prov 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. KJV Ps 27:11 Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.

Remember to send your name next month if you read through your Bible this year. Some of you have had your name on every list for the last seven years. If you have read all the way through, but it took over a year, please let us know. It is a great accomplishment just to finish. We will publish names in either the January or February paper.

our marriage partner does. We answer for our lives, not the life of our mates. Children are given to us to mold and to make. We are required to discipline them and teach them self discipline. Children are always required by God to show respect to their parents. When parents no longer run our lives they become our counselors. There is no age that changes that. How many things do we quote and believe today that have no Biblical truth to them. You might say, Have I been deceived? My question to you is, Does your way work? If it is not working, it is the wrong way. Gloria and I were striving to be successful from day one of our marriage. Our intentions were good and honorable, but after almost five years we were a mess. It wasnt working. We were trying to do good, but we had the wrong spirit and the wrong way. Our goal was right but our methods were wrong. As we begin to search for Gods way, we found that His way was opposite of what the world said. We had to go against most everyone around us. That took FAITH in the Word of God, and it saved our lives and the lives

Are you headed the wrong way? We are often hearing about people who have been drinking and enter the toll roads going the wrong direction. Many people die because they choose to drive after drinking. We think that is awful, but how many times do we choose a direction without knowing if we are going the right way? Nothing good comes from going the wrong way. Many die because of daily choices in their spiritual lives that go against the Word of God! After years of counseling I have realized that good people make bad choices and are shocked when their way doesnt bring about what they thought they would accomplish. They didnt check it out with the Word of God. They went with the flow or took counsel from experts who do not work from the principles of the Bible. How many things have Christians practiced and taught things just to find out that they were not true? One might be that marriage is fifty-fifty. One might be that children should have the freedom to choose for themselves what is right or wrong and not to be taught. One might be that at 18 years of age our children no longer have to listen to their parents and that parents are free from helping their children. None of these things work and they are not true. Marriage is 100% for both. God requires us to do 100% of what He has told us to do, regardless of what

of our family.

those who have gone the wrong way.

Deut 30:1-10 And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the Lord thy God hath driven thee, And shalt RETURN unto the Lord thy God, and shalt OBEY his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul; That then the Lord thy God will TURN thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will RETURN and GATHER THEE from all the nations, whither the Lord thy God hath SCATTERED thee. If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the Lord thy God GATHER THEE, and from thence will he FETCH THEE: And the Lord thy God WILL BRING THEE into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers. And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live. And the Lord thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee. And thou shalt RETURN and OBEY the voice of the Lord, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day. And the Lord thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for THE LORD WILL AGAIN REJOICE OVER THEE FOR GOOD, as he rejoiced over thy fathers: IF thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and IF thou TURN unto the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul. KJV

In John 14:6 Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. If we dont do it like Jesus would do it, I can promise you it will not work. We attempt to do our work through the flesh and wonder why we dont have spiritual blessings. We live with unforgivingness and wonder why we dont feel forgiven. We are being deceitful with our relationships and wonder all the time if others are lying to us. We are living like we care about others and yet all we really are concerned about is self! Thats not Gods way! Too often we are living a shell of righteousness and our hearts are wicked. That is not Gods way! Pride makes us not be honest with ourselves or others. You cant play games with God. He knows your heart! Most Christians in America are living spiritually sick lives. Our children are not following Christ because too often they dont see Christ in our homes. Gloria and I were always in church and working in all areas of the ministry, but we were doing it in the flesh, and we were tried and weary trying to look righteous. God, in His love for us, brought both of us to our knees and showed us that you must die to self in order to live in His Spirit. We had the same problems when we began living in the Spirit that we had while living in the flesh. The difference was, that anything done in the flesh wearied our lives, and anything done through the Spirit of Christ brought refreshment to our lives. It is not hard to live a godly life. It is hard to decide to live a godly life. Remember, if you are going the wrong way you will not end up where you wanted to go! Have a right heart with God, look to the end of a matter and not what it looks like today, and you will end up going the right direction. When God said do not lie and we lie, we just went the wrong way. When God said not to commit fornication and we do, we just went the wrong way. When we go the wrong way we will be greatly disappointed when we realize where we end up in our lives. Have you ever gotten on a road, only to finally realize you went the wrong way and then you drive for miles without finding a way to turn around? Well, when you spiritually take the wrong way, the Word of God is your turn around spot. God always makes a way of escape. There is never a reason not to turn around once you see Gods Word. One of Satans lies that he has used since the beginning of time, is that once you have followed him into the trap there is no way of escape. That is a lie!!! You might have to struggle for some time to change your location, but the moment your heart is right you are made free and cannot be bound to Satan any longer. I love to read the Old Testament and see Gods heart toward His people. I know that what God does for others He will do for me. Gods character is the same toward all His children. He makes different promises because of our needs and His purposes, but His heart is not a respecter of persons. If one person can move His heart, then I can also move His heart. If that were not true, there would be no reason to pray. Gods ways are above our ways. When we do not see a way to turn around with our eyes, God can point us in a way that only He can see and deliver us from our situation. Read these verses and see Gods heart toward

Worry is interest paid on trouble before it is due.

But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. Luke 12:7
One of our readers asked when we were going to share another miracle with you. I began to remember things that the Lord has done for us through the years and thought, What can I share that will show that God loves His children? The next day I went to a funeral home and saw a friend from the past that reminded me of a very special happening in our lives. When Jerry and I reached out to take four foster daughters, we were not financially prepared. We could have made it fine with just our two sons, but four more mouths to feed and four more bodies to clothe was quite a change. We found ourselves having to pray down meals from time to time. We lived in a nice brick home and our friends and neighbors would never have thought about us being in need. Our appearance was deceiving. We had studied the life of George Mueller and how he prayed down his needs and the needs of the orphans. He would never tell his needs until after the Lord had supplied them, then he would share with others what God did and how He did it. We also wanted to see the Lord work like that in our lives. If God would do that for George Mueller, He would do it for us! It was on a Thursday and Jerry and the two oldest children did not get paid until Friday. The rest of the children were in school. We had pooled all our money together on Wednesday so everyone could buy a drink to go with their sack lunch. We were BROKE! There was no food for supper (or dinner if you werent raised in Texas, but I will remind you that the Bible calls it supper). I could have made something, if I only had some flour, but there was no money for flour. We prayed as a family that afternoon and asked the Lord to supply our supper meal and then we went about doing other things. About an hour later there was a knock on our door. It was a deacon from our church with two large sacks of groceries in his hands. My husband said, What are you doing here? He said, The pastor called me and asked me to get some groceries for a needy family. The address he gave was an empty lot. I cant find the people anywhere. I thought to myself, What can I do with this food? Who has a lot of children? Then he thought about us. He said, You couldnt use some food, could you? Jerry said, Come right on in. He then said he had one more sack in the car. When he brought that sack in it had vegetables from his garden and a five pound sack of flour. He said, You probably dont even need this flour. I dont know why I brought it. It was on the counter and I just threw it in the sack. The flour was what I had prayed for! We didnt tell the deacon that night how God had used him to answer our prayer, because we didnt want anyone, but God to know our needs at that time. Two years later we shared it with him, and he was shocked at how God had used him that night. There is not enough room in this paper to tell you all the stories we have experienced because of prayer and waiting on the Lord to send the answers. Our children today expect God to hear their prayers because of what they saw God do over and over when we prayed. We were afraid that the needs we had would make them be afraid to serve the Lord when they grew up. Instead, they all have a

PRAYERS ANSWERED

strong faith and trust in Gods desire to meet their needs. We have never gone hungry, but we have prayed many meals down over the years. When Jerry took his first church in Harlingen, Texas, we fed many missionaries each week. Many times, we had spent all our food money for the week on the first day of the week. I will never forget one week where the Lord sent someone to invite us to supper every day of the week. None of them knew that we had spent all our money on the missionaries. Its been a long time since we have been put to the test like that, but I dont think we will ever forget what it was like. We saw the Lord reach down and serve our lives. We say today, as John did in the book of John, we are disciples whom Jesus loves (John was so aware that he was loved of God). Some things we might doubt, but never will we doubt that God loves us. Ask, seek and knock and then wait upon the Lord for your answer. It will change your life!

EMBARRASSING MOMENT! My father did not have a lot of education and sometimes he would get himself in trouble with words. This particular night he preached a wonderful sermon and you could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit in the room. When he came to the invitation he said, Would you please bow your eyes and close your head. He knew he had said something wrong, but was struggling to straighten it out. Then he said, No, I mean would you close your head and bow your eyes. Realizing he still had it wrong he said, Oh just go home. Mother asked him after the service why he didnt give an invitation. He said, Why! I lost their attention after the second comment.

today. We are so concerned about our own lives that we dont take the time or the thought to invest kind words in others. This lady encouraged others and people were there to show their respect for who she was. We went into a Taco Cabana sometime ago and my husband was in line giving our order, while I waited at the table. The manager came to clean tables around me and we began talking. It was his birthday and we began talking about age. He said he remembered when the young people showed respect to the elders. I said I remembered when the elders lived respectfully! He said, I hadnt thought about it that way. Im sorry, but most peoples lives do not call for respect today. Plus, we are not teaching our children to be respectful because we are not acting respectful. We differ greatly with the people who are running our country and if we are not careful we will be disrespectful to those in authority. When our children differ with us, they treat us like we treat our politicians. There is a way to stand against evil without acting evil, and we must strive to do so. Everyone who gave testimony at this ladies funeral spoke about how much better they were because of her in their lives. Godly women make a difference. Do you realize, the difference you could make by blessing your family with love and encouragement? Those little children that are running around your feet are one day going to be leading our country. Yet, many women are so involved in their own happiness, they are not serving their families. They are seeking to have their families serve them. After World War I, many mothers left their homes and went to work. At first many of those women kept their hearts in their homes and attempted to do both jobs. As time went on, many

How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
Rom 10:15
I attended a funeral this week of a very sweet godly woman. The man who preached her funeral told the story of going to her death-bed and seeing her adopted daughter massaging her feet. He said you could tell she was really enjoying it. Then he used the verse Romans 10:15. She had taught childrens Bible classes for fifty years. She had led hundreds of people to the Lord in her life. Her love was serving the Lord Jesus Christ. He said if anybody deserved to have her feet massaged, it was her. He spoke about her beautiful feet.

My daddy had flat feet, with a size 12 1/2 shoe. He could clap his feet together like you clap your hands. He would say, My feet are beautiful, because God said so! My daddy took the gospel of peace everywhere he went. My feet are deformed from arthritis. They look so ugly to me, until I remember that to God they will be beautiful if I take the gospel of peace to others. If they were having your funeral today, what would they be saying about you? How will people remember your life? As I sat and listened to the men preach her funeral, and heard them talk about the loving things that she had done in her life, I was reminded of how important a godly womans life is to mankind. The woman they were talking about knew that the children she had taught and the programs she had given with Scripture were important, but she could not have known all the people that were watching her life and what it meant to their lives. In Heaven she will be shocked at how many lives were being touched. What impressions do you leave on others? What stands out the most about your character? Is it your love for others, or is it your unconcern for others? Is it your smile, or is it the smirk on your face that attracts others? Do you give blessings or cursing to those who cross your path? I cant believe how many people today use damning words without giving a thought to what they are saying. By our words we are asking God to bless or to curse others. Do we really want those people cursed? By our words we are either lifting others up or casting them down. If your children or your husband are failing in life, it could be that your words are pushing them down. If you expect your loved ones to fail, they probably will. Others need to know that someone believes they can make it. There is very little encouragement in life

Our son Tom and his wife Rhesa have just returned from a trip to Africa, and they passed this store on one of their trips through the country. At first sight, we might laugh to think that someone would think that the word Jesus and the word saloon would go together. At second thought it is very thought provoking. Our son turned around and went back to take the picture. After leaving he realized that he had missed a great opportunity to witness by not going in and talking to the man about who Jesus was and what He could do for him. Our son asked the preacher if he would go back later and witness to the owner. He said he would be glad to. As I looked at this picture I thought about how we as Christians proclaim the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and yet there are things in our lives that are just as out of place as the sign on this store. Our character may not go with our claim of Christian any more than the word Saloon goes with the name of Jesus. We had better be careful what we are displaying to the world.

DO YOU FEEL JESUS HAS BEEN MISPLACED?

Our son Tom is leader of the Engage Hope ministries and the picture at the bottom is a picture of the school children they support in Africa. The African people either call themselves Muslims or Christians, but they might not know the truths of what either one teaches. They think they are born Christians or Muslims, and do not realize that they must be born again of the Holy Spirit to be a Christian. We have a great opportunity to hear the truth in America, but all countries do not have that opportunity. Christ is concerned for all souls and has told us to be witnesses and take the Gospel to all people. You might say, But I cant go to another country. Cant never did anything! But lets say you are right, and you cannot go to another country. Do you know if your next door neighbor is a Christian. We can go next door and down the street, but are we? The picture of the feet on page four is a picture of a woman who went to Africa with Tom and Rhesa. You may not be able tell from the picture, but she has mud all over her feet and legs from walking through muddy roads to get to the people of Africa. How about us? Where have our feet gone?

TID BITS MONTHLY REPORT

Thanksgiving is here. I go to the stores and see more Christmas decorations than Thanksgiving ones. Sometimes I feel that is the way we are today. We hurry through with Thanksgiving so we can get to the presents. Stop and think before you celebrate this year. Just what are you thankful for? I wouldnt even begin to name off the things that we should be thankful for, but it might do us good to sit down and write out each thing that we are thankful for, and then just praise God for loving us. It looks as if America is on the verge of experiencing some hard times. We may not have some of our luxuries in days to come. Enjoy them and be thankful, because the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away! We are nearing the end of our seventh year. Our first paper was printed December, 2006. Since we began, we have buried a lot of our family members. We paid all the expenses of the first paper, and God has provided for all the rest. We know that one day we will have to have a printing press, and we are asking the Lord to provide just as He always has. Because our paper has been printed free we have not had the liberty to increase our mailing as we would like to. We are now paying for part of the printing of the paper and our expenses are increasing. The mail permit and the postage have been raised several times since we began, BUT God has always provided our needs through our readers. We are so grateful for each one of you that share with us in placing this paper in the hands of anyone who wants it. We do the writing and the folding, but you do the sending! We are so grateful to each one of you. There are many hurting people in the body of Christ, and it is our desire to ease their pain and suffering by sharing hope through the knowledge of the Scriptures. Half of being able to endure is understanding the heart of God about our struggles. The more we know Scripture, the greater strength we have in obeying the Scriptures. The older we get the more we realize the importance of SEEKING the Lords heart concerning the things He takes us through. This year is almost over, and we need to ask ourselves if we have gained strength in our faith or has our faith shrunk? Have you served the Kingdom of God with holiness this year? We are here to make a difference. Are we using the power of the Holy Spirit to live our lives? We need to seek to learn how to do that better each day. We pray you will enjoy the family God has put in your life at this time. If there is brokenness, do your part to restore. As our former president said, Dont look to see what they can do for you but look to see what you can do for them!

DONATIONS ACCEPTED
When church secretary Ms. Daisy answered the ringing phone, a mans voice asked, Can I speak to the head hog at the trough? The secretary thought she heard what he said, but asked, Im sorry, who? The caller repeated, Can I speak to the head hog at the trough? Daisy thought a moment and then answered, If you mean the preacher, then you may refer to him as Pastor or Brother, but Id prefer that you not refer to him as the head hog at the trough! To this, the man replied, Well, I was wanting to give one hundred thousand dollars to the building fund. Quick as a wink, Daisy responded, Hang on, sir, I believe I just heard him oink. THE LONG WINDED PREACHER A preacher was known for being long winded. Some of his people had started leaving before he finished his sermon. As one man got up to leave, the preacher said, Mr. Jones, where are you going. Mr. Jones said, To get a hair cut. The preacher said, Why didnt you get your hair cut before services? Mr. Jones said, I didnt need a hair cut before services!

THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH. REPENT BEFORE PAYDAY. 6

(Continued from page 4) How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
womens hearts grew cold toward their homes. The first generation of working mothers, as a rule, had their parents or their husbands parents caring for the children while they worked. This kept the children being raised by people who had the same way of life that their parents had. The second generation put their children in day cares because their parents did not raise them and they did not want to, or know how to, raise their grandchildren. The second generation of working mothers wanted to be free to live the retired life and not be stuck taking care of children. We now have many generations of children raised in child care facilities. On top of this, we allowed our schools to teach evolution, which has taught our children that there is no creator!!!! They now see their selves as being like the animals and they are now acting like animals. They are sleeping with whomever they have the urge to and killing any who threaten their space. What have we done to our children? I am not attempting to say that women cannot work outside of the home. The Proverbs 31 woman was a great business woman. Women are some of the most productive workers. But I am saying that a woman who lays down her God given work of the home and family to live for a business has left what she was created to do. No job can take the place of building a home. I have seen women who have the ability to do both their outside job and their home responsibilities properly and be very successful in both. I am not one of those women. I guess I have a one-track mind. I attempted to work outside about three different times in our marriage, and I never felt like I did either job properly. I never liked my children being left in someone elses care. I felt a great responsibility to use the time of their upbringing to instill in them the things that would help them have a full life. I am so thankful for my daughters-in-law and my foster daughters. They have had to work outside the home from time to time, but have always kept their hearts in their homes. They have never left the making of the lives of their children to other people. I have grandchildren that are a joy to be with because of the disciplines they have been taught by their parents. This makes our family time together so peaceful and enjoyable to be with one another. It has not made us perfect, but workable as a family.
Prov 29:15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS
St. Michaels By the Estuary was getting organized. They had written a mission statement, designed a flow chart, and the office was now working on job descriptions. The following is the first draft. SENIOR PASTOR Is able to leap tall buildings in a single bound; Is more powerful than a locomotive; Is faster than a speeding bullet; Walks on water; Discusses policies with God. ASSOCIATE PASTOR Is able to leap short buildings in a single bound; Is as powerful as a switch engine; Is just as fast as a speeding bullet; Walks on water if the sea is calm; Walks with God. EDUCATIONAL DIRECTOR Leaps small buildings with a running start; Is almost as powerful as a switch engine; Is faster than a speeding BB; Walks on water if he knows where the rocks are; Talks with God if special request is approved. MUSIC DIRECTOR Clears a Quonset hut; Loses races with a locomotive; Can fire a speeding bullet; Swims well; Is occasionally addressed by God. YOUTH DIRECTOR Runs into small buildings; Recognizes locomotives two out of three times; Used a squirt gun in college. Knows how to use the water fountain; Mumbles to himself. CHURCH SECRETARY Lifts buildings to walk under them; Kicks locomotives off the track; Catches speeding bullets in her teeth; When God speaks, she says, May I ask whos calling?

Our children are not safe on our streets today. They are not safe in our schools. Our high schools have guards standing in the halls when they change rooms to keep them safe from one another. What have we done? My belief is that the lack of godly mothers have the greatest responsibility for where we are today. When is the last time your children have seen are heard you praying for them? When is the last time you have shared or talked Scripture with your children? If I asked your children what you believe about Bible doctrines would they know what you believe?

Where is your heart? What are you giving yourself to? Check it out. Make sure your heart is doing the work of a godly woman. God has given woman the ability to influence others. What are we doing with this God given gift? God help us, as women, to capture the hearts of our families for the kingdom

Either you will rise on Him or you will fall on Him. You cannot be neutral or walk around Him. Either you are saved by Him or you are judged by Him. You will encounter Jesus Christ. He is inevitable, He is unavoidable, He is inescapable. What you do with Jesus Christ determines what Jesus Christ will do with you. What are you doing with Jesus Christ today?
