Eph 6:10-19
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the
Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye
may be able to stand against the wiles of the
devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this
world, against spiritual wickedness in high
places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour
of God, that ye may be able to withstand in
the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt
about with truth, and having on the breast-
plate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the
fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word
of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching
thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Have you been called to battle lately? If you are attempting to serve
the Lord, you either have been or will be called to battle. But are you prepared?

Satan. I’m sad to say that many Christians have not learned to battle in the Spirit
but still battle in the flesh. Too many fight just like the world.
Where do our battles come from? Have you ever been at odds with a
family member and found yourself not speaking to one another? Have you

ever disagreed with someone and they became disagreeable? Have you ever had
someone bear false witness against you? What has possibly happened to you that
would cause you to have to go to battle? If you are not in a battle today, you will
be one day, and when you are, you need to be dressed in the armor of God.
Before you can dress in the armor of God, you must undress your armor
of flesh. Paul says we are to put off the old man and put on the new man. If you
are to defeat the works of Satan you must change clothes.
When we are approached with a battle, the first thing we will want to do
is fight. The natural thing is to put on the fleshly armor, which is anger, justifica-
tion, unforgivingness, a desire to destroy. Don’t play holier than thou, be honest,
we all feel these things when we think our rights have been trampled on. If it’s
our heart’s desire to be used of God, then we will give all these things to God and
lay them on His altar. How can we do that? He that loses his life shall find it. He
that keeps his life shall lose it. We have to become like a little child and trust the
Lord to take care of us.
The first thing we must do is to have our loins girt about with truth. Can
we get honest with ourself and others?
Ps 15
15 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his
heart.
3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a
reproach against his neighbour.
4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord.
He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
5 He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He
that doeth these things shall never be moved.

Even if it hurts, we must be truthful. God will not protect us if we are
not honest and truthful. Our strength (loins) comes from honesty and the truth of
God’s word. We must not misuse God’s word for our benefit. God will not honor
it! Truth is where we will find our strength in the battle
Next we put on the breastplate of righteousness. Not our righteousness,
but Christ’s righteousness. This makes us acceptable in the sight of God. He
sees the pure righteous blood of Christ and not our filthy rags. The breastplate
protects our hearts.
Next we cover our feet with the gospel of peace. We are not entering
battle to destroy; we are there to redeem. We don’t want to increase the war, we
want to defeat the war. If we are out to kill the person or persons who are coming
against us, then we don’t understand who the enemy is. Satan is using the division

NOTICE: This paper is for three months, instead of two. My house is
having to be completely remodeled because of floor damage. Everything has to
be moved out and all floors replaced. When they checked the floor they found
asbestos on the floor and that will take even longer. I have to have a place to live
until it is finished. It could take two months. I do have insurance and I am very
thankful for it. I have mixed emotions. This is turning my whole life upside
down, BUT it will give me a chance to go through things and get rid of what I
don’t need to be taking care of. Every cloud has a silver lining!
I am having to have another printer print my paper this time due to the
move. It costs about $400 more to do it this way but I felt I must do it.
APOLOGY: Last month I wrote that Bro. Larry Connor was retiring
and moving to Oklahoma. He did plan to, but God impressed him to stay here
and continue for a while. I had forgotten that I had written about his move before
God changed his mind. He is having heart problems, but he is working as long
as he can. His pacemaker battery needs to be changed and he will have that done
soon.
I have many widow and widower friends that desire to be used of God.
Pray that, we who are in our later days could find ways to really be effective for
the Lord. Wherever we are in life, it is never right to not have God first in all we
do. I’ll pray for you and you pray for me.
I hope you are daily reading through your Bible. I have finished and
started over. It’s been a good year in God’s word. The days are getting tougher
and we need to be close to God’s word. Find God’s promises and when we pray
,claim them. It’s amazing how God respond when we claim His promises. I
claim Ps. 127:1-2 every night and I get the best sleep in town. What do you need?

to attempt to destroy us. If we can clean up the division, then Satan is defeated
and all will be healed. Jesus came to defeat the works of Satan. We must not al-
low Satan to use us to further his works. The battle can’t just be about us. God
cares about everyone that is involved. Will it be God working through our lives
to heal or will it be Satan working through our lives to destroy? This must be
settled before approaching the opposition.
Next, and above all, take the shield of faith so you can quench the fiery
darts of Satan. Every accusation is a fiery dart and by faith we reject every dart
thrown at us. If it gets through that shield of faith it will set our flesh on fire and
we will get in God’s way. Our job is to divert those darts and stay right with
God.
Next is to put on the helmet of salvation, which protects the mind so we
can have the mind of Christ and not our carnal mind. Do you know for sure you
are saved? You better make sure you are God’s child and that you have received
that helmet. What did Satan say to Jesus in the wilderness? Satan said, “If you
be the Son of God.” If you are willing to stand in God’s armor, Satan is going to
make you doubt your salvation if at all possible. Make sure you are confident in
your salvation before battle.
When we take the helmet of salvation we are also given the Sword of
God, which is the word of God. All we have to say is, “It is written”. We have
the greatest weapon there is. God’s word is alive. When we fall on Him we are
broken, when He falls on us we are crushed. He changes lives. His word is all
we need.
Next we are to be in prayer,
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching there-
unto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
We should be praying for both sides. We want victory for all. We are to
make supplication in the Spirit. That is asking or begging for something hum-
bly. We are to watch with all perseverance and supplication for all. That is to be
persistence in our supplication for all. The part that we have been given is very
important.
Last of all, but not least of all, there is something we need to understand.
God does not dress us to fight. He dresses us to STAND. I have always thought
we were to dress to fight. Oh no! God said He dressed us to WITHSTAND and
above all to STAND. God fights the battle, not us. If you go to
fight for yourself, you will never see what God can do. He is the warrior that wins
our battles, not us. Our job is to stand and wait upon the Lord. Do we really trust
Him to take care of us?
Heb 12:11-13
11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless after-
ward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
12 Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;
13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way;
but let it rather be healed.

I thought this would be a good time to write about widows, seeing I really
fell like one today. My house is having to be renovated and I have to move out
for a while. There are many decisions to make that my husband would have been
making. My children are a great help, but it is evident that Jerry is missing. I am
not about to complain, because God is so good at taking care of widows.
I was reading the requirements for the widows that the church is obli-
gated to help, and realized every Christian woman should take a good look at
what she should be in her latter years. These requirements are the result of her
early years of service. So young women, take heed.
She is to be the wife of ONE MAN! She takes her vows seriously. She
is not a woman who easily breaks her word. There are many reasons for broken
homes and the woman may not be responsible for the breaking of her home but
never let it be said that she took her vows lightly and was not trustworthy.
She was known for GOOD WORKS! Good works are works of kind-
ness to others. She did not live a self-centered life. This woman lived to serve
others. Four times the word IF is used.
If she brought up children. It’s not always God’s will for a woman to

important how she cared for her children. Did she apply herself to the lives of her
children? Did she teach them self control? Did she teach them to read and write?
