Topic : Glorious Food

Previous Knowledge : Pupils have learnt on the topic of beautiful harvest.

Skills :

3.2.2 Read and give details about the people in the passage.
3.3.3 Read and understand simple passage.
4.1.4 Write words, phrases and sentences in clear, eligible, cursive writing.
Learning Outcomes :
By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to :
1. Listen and repeat correctly the passage.
2. Answer at least 3 out of 5 questions correctly based on the passage.
3. Read and give at least 4 details based on the passage.
4. Complete 3 out of 5 sentences in written form with guidance.

Strategies
Set Induction 1. Teacher asks the pupils a few questions regarding - Discussion Moral Value:
(5 minutes ) to their favourite food. -Cooperation
“Class, can you tell me what your favourite food is?” -self-confident
“Do you know what food is famous in Malaysia?”

Development 1. Teacher introduces words by writing the four words - Discussion Skills :
Step 1 on the blackboard. (varieties, ethnic, unique, 1.2.2

(10 minutes) 2. Teacher asks whether the pupils understand the Moral Value:
meaning of the words. - cooperation
“Does anyone understand the meaning of these five
words?”
“Let me explain these five words first.”
“varieties – many types”
“ethnic -  characteristic of a sizable group of people
sharing a common and distinctive racial, national,
religious, linguistic, or cultural”
“unique – special”
“marinated – to soak”
“ingredients - a component of a mixture, compound,
etc., especially in cooking”
3. Teacher asks the pupils to read aloud the words
and memorize the spelling of these words.
“I will give you 3 minutes to memorize the spelling
and meaning of these words. I will get some pupils
to answer my questions later. You may start now.”

Step 2 1. Teacher asks the pupils to read the passage in - Discussion Skills:
(Practice) page 67. 2.3.3, 3.2.2,
(10 minutes) “Now, class, turn to page 67. Please read after me 3.3.3
sentence by sentence.”
2. Teacher asks whether the pupils understand the AVA: textbook
meaning of the passage.
“Class, do you understand the meaning of the Moral Values:
passage?” - Cooperation
“Let me explain the meaning of some sentences in - Tolerate
the passage.” - self-confident

Step 3 1. Pupils are asked to read according to their - Group work Skills:
(Production) group. - Discussion 3.2.2, 3.3.3
(15 minutes) “Class, I will divide you to four groups; one
group will read a paragraph.” AVA:
“Good.” - textbook
“Class, I am going to ask every group a few
questions.” Moral Values:
“What is the Malay food famous for?” - Cooperation
“What is the Chinese food famous for?” - Tolerate
“What is the Indian food famous for?” - self-confident

Step 4 1. Teacher asks the pupils to complete the exercise in - Individual work Skill:
(Individual textbook page 68. - Decision making 4.1.4
work) “Class, I want all of you to complete the exercises in
(12 minutes ) the textbook page 68.” AVA:
“Please read the questions together.” - textbook
“Good. Complete the exercises now.”
“You can hand in you exercise book once you have Moral Value:
completed it.” - Self-confident

Closure 1. Teacher gives hangman to the pupils in the class - Discussion Moral Values:
