It looked really cool and I envisioned the kids each growing a some tomatoes and a bean or two. Well, blow me down, but a massive box of seedlings arrived yesterday as well as a gardening gift voucher from Mitre 10. We have the following punnets and equipment: * One Pyramid Sprinkler Eleven Dwarf Beans * One 30m Hose One Early Girl Tomato Plant * One Plastic Hose Set Two Cabbages * Two Seedling Trays One Lettuce Mix * One Spade One Normal Lettuce * Three Trowels One Broccoli * Two 40L Garden Mix One Snow Pea and *Two 15L SeedRaising Mix Two Butter Beans Hmmm I think we need to get gardening! The kids are planning out their garden beds today, and I am going to Mitre 10 on the weekend to pick up our supplies and a couple of pre-made beds. On Monday after play, we are going to have our TUI Gardening Day. We will put up our beds and sort out our gardens. We would love for you all to come and join us :-)

Especially a super Dad who could turn our black alkathene pipe into a proper hose (we have all of the attachments now :-) Also if anyone would like to buy some of our seedlings ($2 each so the kids can buy other plants) or trade a few dwarf beans for other varieties such as carrots or cherry tomatoes, we would appreciate it (I think there are only so many beans one can eat safely in one year ;-) We would love for the whole community to be involved, so please come and join us. And dont forget your kids will need their farm clothes on Monday, be prepared for grubby children in return ;-) School Desks For Sale $30 We have some extra school desks for sale. If you are interested just let me know. School Skiing Trips Just a reminder that we have booked our trips for tomorrow, at the moment it looks good. Hopefully we can make it since we couldnt go last week. I will ring everyone directly for confirmation in the morning to let you know if the mountain is open. The only gear your children require that we cannot hire are sun glasses or goggles and gloves (I think you can get cheap ones from Taihape Sports). Please let me know if you have any questions or any small gear that the juniors can borrow. Thanks. Collect Our Own Litter Project The Rotary Club of Taihape is coordinating the local Collect Our Own Litter project to clean up Taihape town + rural roads this Saturday. Contact the President, Jan Byford 388 0194, or jbyford@iconz.co.nz if you can assist. Jan has 1,000 plastic bags and gloves for helpers to use. Meet at 21 Huia Street, Taihape at 10.00am to start the cleanup. Helpers need only assist for 1-2 hours Ka kite ano, Marama and Carol
