About the Convention


The National Academy of Psychology (NAOP) India and the Department of Psychology, Christ University, Bangalore jointly announce the XXII Annual Convention of the NAOP, India. Over the past decade, psychology in India has proliferated in many directions. The social, political, economic, and technological changes have brought new challenges to the discipline. Consequently, the shifts in approaches have necessitated revisiting the tools and methods adopted in the theory building, research, and practice of psychology in the Indian contexts. Thus, the aforementioned theme of the convention will enable psychologists to examine the recent shifts in the discipline of psychology. In addition, there will be interdisciplinary debates in social sciences which are of direct relevance to the discipline of psychology. Specifically, there will be sessions on multiculturalism, economic development and urbanization, cognitive neuroscience, and changing practices in mental health. Call for Papers


Abstracts of individual papers and posters of 300 words are invited for the scientific sessions. The abstract should describe the purpose, method, results, and contributions of the research. Proposals for symposium should include 5 to 6 such individual abstracts. The language of the convention is English. Oral presentations will be of the duration 15+5 minutes. Indicate into which particular conference topics or, broad NAOP divisions (Cognitive, Developmental, Organizational, Health, Social, etc.) you wish your abstract to be included Indicate the form of presentation (ORAL/POSTER). Use 12-point Times New Roman font for the text with single line spacing without indentations. Selected papers and posters presented at the convention will be included in an edited volume of the Conference proceedings to be published with ISBN. Full papers for the publication must be submittedby January 15, 2013 for review and possible inclusion. Participants interested in applying for the Best Thesis Award should have submitted or been awarded doctorate in the year 2011-2012. Participants interested in applying for the awards must submit the full paper before September 30, 2012.

Accommodation
Limited paid accommodation for delegates and research scholars will be available in the guest house on the first come first served basis. For postgraduate students, limited accommodation will be arranged outside the campus. Charges depend on specific tariff structures of the place of stay. The Scientific Programme


The convention highlights include keynote addresses by Indian and international scholars, Prof. Durganand Sinha memorial lecture, symposia, pre- and post-conference workshops, Durganand Sinha dissertation award, best paper award by NAOP, round tables, state-of-the-art lectures, and cultural events in the evening.

Guidelines for Paper Submission


The full paper should include an Abstract (300 words), Introduction, a description of Methods, Results and Discussion presented in APA format, font Times New Roman, Size, 12. Length of the paper should not exceed 4000-5000 words including the Abstract and the References. The number of Tables/Figures should be restricted to three or four.
