The Philippine Embassy in Hanoi wishes to inform the Filipino community
in Vietnam that Minister Pham Thi Hai Chuyen, Ministry of Labor Invalids
and Social Affairs (MoLlSA) have requested local authorities to conduct
inspections on foreign workers, particularly those involved in foreign
invested projects.
The move came after local media reported that a number of foreign
laborers had been employed in Vietnam without work permits.
Inspectors are tasked to figure out how foreign contractors, working on
projects in VietNam, Vietnamese Investors and foreign workers abide by
domestic laws.
Violators have been warned of strict punishments in the case of
apprehension.
The Embassy encourages all the concerned members of the Filipino
community in Vietnam to request their respective employers to apply for
work permits to allow them to work legally in Vietnam.
