Reading Workshop Our mystery unit is going well. Students are writing good summaries and discussing their books in small groups or pairs. They will get to read a mystery of their own choice next.

Writing Workshop

Math We are beginning a unit on fractions and decimals this week. Some key words this week are: fraction, numerator, denominator, equivalent fractions, improper fraction, and mixed number.

Social Studies Chapter 3 test will be on Thursday. Students should know these terms: physical geography, climate, natural resources, and special-purpose map. They should reread the entire chapter so that they can recall the places mentioned in the book.

We will nish publishing our poetry and do our recordings this week and then devote the remainder of the writing blocks to working on our social studies projects.
