Stages Of Photoshop- Album Cover

We took a great deal of time in deciding which typography we wanted. We asked our target market through market research about which typography they preferred and they chose Rockwell. We did think that Rockwell went well with our album cover, but we didnt think it was interesting enough, so we made set the text to mirror so it gave it a more of an original look. When it c ame to the colour of the typography we made sure that the colour was continuous throughout the album. Our target market said that this colour scheme went well, also the contrast in the rocks and water makes it stand out a lot more. From our questionnaire we found out that the album name being smaller than the artists name was ideal, choosing it to be in black again goes with our colour scheme.

The puff we used was chosen by our target audience from our market research, we decided on a light white at first but it was too clear and difficult to see against the rocks, but when we put another layer on top it was easier to see and also looks a lot better.

The information to put in the puff was stimulated by our research on other album covers in the market at the moment. Our first layer of typography was Exclusive Tracks Including.. we put this typography in bold to catch the audiences attention to the known na mes featuring on the album. Their names including Rita Ora an Tinie Tempah weren't put in bold because we aren't selling those artists we are selling Labrinth.
