First Line Indentation

Language is a part of our life, and we ought to try to increase our command of it to extend our knowledge. Nowadays, it is possible for children to learn other than through books alone and one of the most effective ways of aiding education is by the use of toys.

Hanging Indentation
A typist must always spell and punctuate correctly. A business letter containing spelling or punctuation error, or both creates a poor impression on the recipient. Comprehension is the name given to the process by which we understand what we read or what we hear. The aim of quicker reading is to increase the speed of comprehension. Always make sure that letters and enclosures for posting are folded carefully and neatly. Take care not to fold a document more than is necessary to fit it into its envelope.

Left Indentation
Quicker reading techniques have been developed because of the increasing amount of written material which the executive, the professional man woman and the student find they have to read. Large numbers of people in the United States have been trained to read at twice and even three times their original speed without losing any of the comprehension of the material which they are reading.

Right Indentation
A good letter is one which expresses clearly what has to be said so that it is understood, and does so in a favourable way. To this end, business letters should be brief without being curt, friendly without being familiar. It is astonishing how few people know how to speak well on the telephone. Everybody uses it at one time or other, yet very few of us attempt to train ourselves to the proper use if this fine instrument. A low, clear voice is best.
