Abstract: E-portfolio suports learner-centered learning, promotes reflection and encourages
lifelong learning, engages and motivates students, and helps them to develop skills that will
benefit them after the formal education. This type of learning provides teachers better
insight into individual students' abilities, and helps them to monitor their students
continuously and encourage their progress. One of many ways for teachers to recognize the
opportunities and benefits of using e- portfolios in education is to become familiar with it
from students' perspective. This paper presents the Mahara e-portfolio system, its main
features, and also experiences of teachers who have used Mahara on e-learning course,
named E-learning and creative teaching.
