Quality Control Requirements Contractor shall prepare a Quality Control plan as per "Schedule Q" to ensure the Contract Specifications were met. The plan, including proposed testing laboratory, methods, rates of testing, etc. shall be submitted to Saudi Aramco Representative for approval prior to the start of construction. Quality Assurance/Control of Installation Monitor quality control over suppliers, manufacturers, Products, services, site conditions, and workmanship, to produce Work of specified quality. Comply fully with manufacturers' instructions, including each step in sequence. Should manufacturers' instructions or specified reference standards conflict with Contract Documents, request clarification from Saudi Aramco Representative before proceeding. Comply with specified standards as a minimum quality for the Work except when more stringent tolerances, codes, or specified requirements indicate higher standards or more precise workmanship. Perform work by persons qualified to produce workmanship of specified quality. Secure Products in place with positive anchorage devices designed and sized to withstand stresses, vibration, physical distortion or disfigurement. Conform to the latest issue of the applicable reference standards. Obtain copies of standards when required by Contract Documents. General Requirements Standards: Sampling, preparation of samples and testing shall conform to applicable ASTM methods, unless otherwise specified. Reports: Two copies shall be furnished to Saudi Aramco Representative summarizing the results of each test and inspection. Each report shall clearly distinguish the type of test, location, the material tested and whether an original (first) test or a retest, and other related information.

Notification: Saudi Aramco Representative and if applicable, Saudi Aramco testing laboratory or agency appointed by Saudi Aramco, shall be notified 48 hours in advance of any work requiring testing or inspection. Required Inspection (see applicable sections of specifications for details) includes, but is not limited to; 1. Site layout and layout of building. Foundation excavation before forms are started. Concrete forms and reinforcing steel, prior to concrete placement. All concrete pouring. Asphalt pavement or reinstatement. Installation of damp-proofing membranes and vapor barriers. Finish site grading. Backfill. Steel and wall framing prior to enclosure. Roof surface prior to insulation and roof water proofing Work. Floor surface prior to tile and carpet Work. Any other items specifically required by Saudi Aramco Representative.

Cooperation: The testing laboratory shall prepare, cure, store, etc, all job-made samples. Identification: Materials passing test shall be marked or tagged by the Testing Laboratory and shall thereafter be kept separate and stored so as to facilitate identification. Any such material not identifiable by Saudi Aramco Representative shall be rejected and removed from storage location or the site. Non-conformance: Where a test or inspection reveals non-conformance or failure to meet requirements, Saudi Aramco Representative shall immediately be notified, verbally and subsequently by a written report or letter. Field Samples Install field samples at the site as required by individual specifications Sections for review. Acceptable samples represent a quality level for the Work.

Where field sample is specified in individual Sections to be removed, clear area after field sample has been accepted by Saudi Aramco Representative. Inspection and Inspectors Saudi Aramco Representative or other persons or firms appointed by Saudi Aramco for this purpose will periodically inspect the work and Contractor will provide facilities and access to the work at all times as required to facilitate this inspection. All testing, including requests, reports, etc., are the responsibility of Contractor, or an agency employed by Contractor. Saudi Aramco reserves the right to verify the tests with Saudi Aramco testing laboratory or independent agency. Manufacturers' Field Services and Reports When specified in individual specification Sections, require material or Product suppliers or manufacturers to provide qualified staff personnel to observe site conditions, conditions of surfaces and installation, quality of workmanship, as applicable, and to initiate instructions when necessary. Individuals to report observations and site decisions or instructions given to applicators or installers that are supplemental or contrary to manufacturers' written instructions. Layout and Measurements Verify dimensions before layout and request clarification of discrepancies or be responsible for correction. Verify all measurements before ordering of fabricated items.
