    1. MATERIAL OF AGRICULTURAL EXTENSION


    1.1 The Kind of Agricultural Extension Material Basically, material of agricultural extension is a message that communicated by speaker to the farmer as a target. There are two types of the message: 1. Ideological message. 2. Informative message: a. Basic of knowledges. b. Result of apllied research and development. c. Practical knowledges. d. Farmer message.

    How to choose the agricultural extension message? Depend on the target. The current issues for farmer. Consideration of methodologies.

    MATERIAL OF AGRICULTURAL EXTENSION


    1.2 Subject Matter The subject matter should be concerned to the farmers activities included prosperity of farmers family. Example: Science of agricultural cultivation. Economical agriculture. Management of farmers households. Agricultural institution. Political agriculture.

    1.3 Sources of Agricultural Extension Material Divided into: 1. Legal sources from government. 2. Legal sources from private institution (swasta). 3. Farmers experiences. 4. The other sources.

    1.4 Characteristics of Agricultural Extension Material Divided into: 1. Problem solving of current and forthcoming issues. 2. Instruction and recommendation should be implemented. 3. Material that contains instrumental properties.

    Based on Arboleda (1981) , material of extension divided into 4 parts. Every single part have a different ratio.

    How to choose the agricultural extension method? The preferable method depend on the: Purpose Education level of target Confidence level between target and speaker Skill of speaker Employee and available other resources.

    2. METHOD OF AGRICULTURAL EXTENSION 2.1 Principal of Agricultural Extension Method There are several principal of agricultural extension method: 1. Develop the creative thinking. 2. The strategic location of target. 3. Individual related to social environment. 4. Create the close relationship with target. 5. Giving something to make a changes.

    2.2 Approach to Choose the Agricultural Extension Method Be able to do such as: Agricultural extension method and communication process that divided into: a. Agricultural extension method based on social media. b. Agricultural extension method based on relationship between speaker and target. c. Agricultural extension method based on phsyco-social condition of target. 2. Agricultural extension method based on non-formal education. 3. Agricultural extension method on adult education.

    METHOD OF AGRICULTURAL EXTENSION

    To make Agriculture extension succesfuly, the material and method should be appropriated by target (farmer) Agriculture extension method should be combinated to optimize the result. The speaker should have the ability to read the situation (farmer condition )
