Essential Question: What is the process of sedimentary rock formation?
Objectives: Sedimentary rock formation is a five step process. Sedimentary rocks can be
grouped into three categories; clastic, organic and chemical. Common sedimentary rocks are
shale, sandstone, coal, and limestone. The rock cycle describes how one type of rock can be
changed to another recycling the same materials.
