2. Ancient History- History of people living from the beginnings of human society through 300 CE. 3. Century- One hundred years. 4. Millennium- One thousand years. 5. Decade- Ten years. 6. Era- A period of time that is associated with a particular quality, event, person, etc. 7. Change- To become or to make someone or something different. 8. Continuity- The quality of something that does not stop or change as time passes: a continuous quality. 9. Causality- The relationship between something that happens or exists and the thing that causes it. 10. Effect- A change that results when something is done or happens: an event, condition, or state of affairs that is produced by a cause. 11. Colony- A group of emigrants or their descendants who settle in a distant territory but remain subject too or closely associated with the parent country. 12. Continent- One of the great divisions of land (such as North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, or Antarctica) of the Earth. 13. Country- A sovereign nation. 14. Equality- The quality or state of being equal: the quality or state of having the same rights, social status, etc. 15. Freedom- The quality or state of being free. 16. Racism- Poor treatment of or violence against people because of their race. 17. Slave- Someone who is legally owned by another person and is forced to work for that person without pay. 18. Race- A category of humankind that shares certain distinctive physical traits. 19. Assassination- To kill (someone, such as a famous or important person) usually for political reasons. 20. Labor- Physical or mental effort. 21. Hate Crime- Any various crimes when motivated by hostility to the victim as a member of a group (as one based on color, creed, gender, or sexual orientation). 22. Rebellion- An effort by many people to change the government or leader of a country by the use of protest or violence. 23. Movement- A series of organized activities working toward an objective. 24. Timeline- A table listing important events for successive years within a particular historical period. 25. Identify- To know and say who someone is or what something is.
