Description of artifact and how the artifact meets the standard:
At the beginning, middle, and end of the year I assess the students on our preschool report card
over their letter knowledge. I use this assessment to guide my letter instruction and letters are
something that we are always learning about in preschool, so the assessment aligns with the
instruction that the students are receiving.

Reflection on artifact (what went right, what went wrong, how to make better):
I love looking at these letter assessments at the end of the year because the students always make
a ton of progress over the school year. These assessments are very time consuming especially
when the students dont know as many letters. However, when they know more letters the
assessment goes faster because there is less wait time. I prefer using this printed version of the
letter assessment over the online form version that is available in our GOLD assessment. The
online version does not show the letters that the students previously knew and is more time
consuming to enter.
