Description of artifact and how the artifact meets the standard:
During our Tree Study in the fall the students get to learn different concepts about trees. The
students study types of trees, parts of trees, and animals that live in trees. While we were studying
animals that live in trees James Dotzler from the Polk County Conservation came to our classroom
to teach the students about different animals that live in trees.
Reflection on artifact (what went right, what went wrong, how to make better):
This experience was extremely beneficial to the students learning! James brought in several stuffed
animals that the students were able to feel and see. The students learning was greatly enriched
and they gained a better understanding of the importance of trees by seeing animals that call trees
their home.
