First Exercise
5 pts.
The number of turns of the secondary coil of a transformer is 300turns and the number of the
turns of the primary coil is 100 turns. The secondary coil is connected to a lamp.
1. Draw a diagram for this transformer.
2. Calculate the voltage across the lamp if the primary voltage is 70V.
3. Knowing that the transformer is ideal, and the power consumed by the lamp is 2100W, calculate
the current in the primary circuit.
Third Exercise
5 pts.
A microscope formed of an objective lens of focal length f1 = 2cm and an eyepiece lens of focal
length f2 = 3cm. The distance O1O2 between the 2 lenses is 8cm.

B
If an object
AB = 1cm is placed at 3cm in front of the objective lens of the microscope , find the
total magnification of this microscope.

FourthA Exercise 4O1

pts.
An electromagnetic wave of frequency 10 1014Hz.
1.
Is this wave visible or not? Justify.
2.
Calculate the corresponding energy.
Given: h = 6.610-34J.s ; c = 3108 m/s.

Fifth Exercise
6 pts.
In an experiment made to compare the two types of electric voltages, Samia displayed on the
oscilloscope screen the following two figures:
Given: SV = 155 V/div ; Vb = 5 ms/div.

Figure (1)

What are the types of the voltages in figures (1) & (2). Justify your answer.
Calculate the value of U in figure (1).
Find Umax then deduce the effective voltage Ueff in figure (2).
What instrument is used to measure directly the effective voltage Ueff .
Calculate the period and the frequency in figure (2).
If the voltage of figure (2) is delivered to a house with a 10A current during 200hours. Find the
value of the electricity bill if the cost of the KWh is (80 L.L) for the first (200KWh), (90 L.L) for
the KWh between (200 KWh) & (600 KWh) and (100 L.L) for the KWh over (600 KWh).
