hook and hold sometimes-fragile
student engagement and focus, we
need to avoid oversimplifying for
school what is beautiful and alluring
in human nature: curiosity.

discourse, the fallibility of the teacher,
and that both are engaged in the same
intellectual project so that preventing
miscommunications and correcting
errors are joint concerns. This joint
