Final Reflection

No matter what people say about my generation, we did not have

technology embedded in our curriculums and education until high school. All
throughout grade school, we had huge (not flat screen) TVs that had to be
wheeled in or overhead projectors from decades prior at our disposal. In
certain classes in high school, like history or sociology, that was still the
case. The summer before my 9th grade year, our science wing got smart
boards and everyone was so excited. Even still, my teachers didnt use them
much or didnt know how to. When Im a teacher, I WILL be different from
them and I have this class to somewhat thank.
While it wasnt what I expected form the course, I learned a lot about
certain websites and tools teachers are beginning to use in their classroom.
Through our group projects, I got to bounce ideas off of my team and figure
out how to incorporate technology in a simple lesson using ideas like UDL,
etc. The UDL project was particularly fun because my group worked really
hard to find fun, interactive games that wrap up our topic. I learned the
importance of technology standards by making a lesson of my own. I really
enjoyed my idea, but from your rubric response, I got that it wasnt explained
thoroughly enough and it needed to be explained more clearly. Also from
this, I got that I need to find more creative ways to incorporate technology.
Out of all the content from this semester, I connected with UDL the
best because I could relate to not being able to get everything from a lesson
in high school because of the lack of multiple intelligences represented. Even

then, teachers would make us take that Gardner test yet they would only
incorporate visual. In my classroom, this class has taught me to represent all
learners.
